Flowering Desert - Friendship Card

Today I want to share with you this card I made with the beautiful Flowering Desert stamp set.
This is possibly one of my favourite stamp sets in the whole new Occasions catalogue. It caught my eye as soon as I saw it and I just LOVE that sentiment 'Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful'.
I want to make these cards for EVERYBODY!

Of course I also included another of my favourites and that is the new Stitched Rectangle Shapes.
People have been asking Stampin' Up! for these for ages and they finally followed through and we are all in love!

I hope you enjoy looking at this card I made...

I added the 'friend' die cut from the Well Written framelits. These are a must as they have so many appropriate words for cards for any occasion.

I've used a real mixture of ink from Call Me Clover, Shaded Spruce, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green and more! I love that with the cacti set you can use a multitude of greens!

Here's a bit of a close up. I also used the new sequins from the Occasions Catalogue that coordinate with the Gingham Gala Suite and added some beautiful wooden elements from the Butterfly Elements out of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue that you can earn FREE with a $90 (AUD) order if you shop with me.

I also am totally in love with the new Old Olive Linen Thread. (I maybe order 4 rolls of that...oopsie!)

Here is a look at the decorated inside. I just can't stop until the inside is done, especially when you spend all that time decorating the outside!

I hope you enjoyed this look at a card I made with this set.

Happy crafting! xx

Best Catch - For You Card

Hi there and welcome to my first blog post for 2019.
Gosh it's weird to type that as a year, how the years are just flying by these days. My little boy starts school in just a few short weeks. It's feels crazy saying that!

A new year means a BRAND NEW catalogue for Stampin' Up!
January is the time our absolutely awesome Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogues come out and can I just say, they have blown me away again this year!

When this catalogue was first released (I was lucky to see it in November at convention) I saw this Best Catch stamp set and knew I just HAD to get it as my Dad is an avid flyfisherman.

I wanted to colour a rainbow trout and was inspired by the lovely co-founder of Stampin' Up! Shelley Gardener's beautiful colouring that I saw at Onstage.
This is what inspired this card, paired with the gorgeous new Crackle Paint Background Stamp
(see below for links to all the products I have used)

Here's a look at the finished card...

I am really happy with how it turned out. I was die cutting the 'reeds' and was also inspired by Shelley Gardener, with clear embossing on Crumb Cake Cardstock and die-cutting for a 'wet' look and then tearing to the core of the Crumb Cake for some more rough 'suede' looking reeds.

I have done quite a few techniques on this card, so yes it did take a while, but I think it's so worth it.

All my stamped elements are done so with copper embossing to help with the watercoloring and staying in the lines. I didn't always stay within the lines, but that is ok, I think it adds to the rustic look!

I copper embossed the background with the Crackle Paint stamp and then sponged over the background with Crumb Cake ink. This was a lot of fun!

I have also distressed the type right corner and stapled this for some added texture.

I couldn't be done without a finished inside, so I copper embossed the fisherman and added him die cut to the inside.

I can't wait to give this to my Dad to use in his fly fishing business.

I hope you enjoyed a look at one of the first cards I have made of 2019! I am sure I will be sharing lots more over the coming month.

In the mean time, do you live in Australia and want a catalogue?

There is so much to love about these new catalogues, and I would love you to see one too.

Frosted Floral - December Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. You are visiting Kayla's blog from Tasmania, Australia.
This is my very last blog hop as a member of the 2018 Artisan Design Team, which is bittersweet as I will be sad to go, but happy for the amazing year I have had, the lifelong friendships that I have made, and the amazing new team about to start for 2019!

This blog hop we are sharing amazing projects featuring the ever so gorgeous Frosted Floral suite of products. Something really exciting about this suite is the bundle, stamps and framelits will be carrying over, so will still be available to purchase in the new year!

I have made a bit of a gift set as part of this hop today featuring a handmade card and a pillow box to pop a little additional gift in.

I hope you enjoy my post today and gather some inspiration using these products.

Scroll to the bottom of the post to see the brand new 2019 Artisan Design Team, and all the products I have used for today's post.

Here's a look at the two completed projects together.
I really enjoyed repeatedly stamping on the background in Mint Macaron with one of the gorgeous leafy stamps to create my won design which I then spritzed with a Stampin' Write marker.
I have used a cluster of both stamped and die cut elements from the bundle with the addition of the Joyeous Noel 6x6 Glimmer Paper.

The little Kraft Pillow Box was a fun addition to decorate along with the card to hold a small coordinating gift.

I have made his set of cards of general theme, with a bit of a 'congratulations' theme.
It would be great for a new graduate, someone that just completed something they had been striving for, such as a new job, or many other occasions.

Here's a close up look at the handmade card. As you can see from here, I added my very favourite Linen Thread and one of the Galvanised Metal Buttons from another suite. I loved the sweet handmade touch this gave the card, and added even more texture.

Here's a close up of the pillow box.
Here you can see that I have heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder which I just love with these colour tones and textures.
I just love the Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon, it adds even more fun and texture.

I can see myself using this suite lots and lots for many different occasions as it is just so versatile!

I hope that you enjoyed my projects today.

The rest of the Artisan Blogs:

I also wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all you love and support over the last year, it really has meant the world to me and I have grown so much as a person and as a creator with my time on the Artisan Design Team. It's taught me so much about myself and about my creativity and also to be a lot more confident!
I have all of you to thank and hope you still follow me, as I am not going anywhere and can't wait to see where my creativity takes me next!
