Good Times ~ 12x12 Layout

I'm back again and this time with a layout share using the gorgeous Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine collection. I first saw this collection in Spotlight when I had gone in to get some glue tape (let's face it...I always come out with more than what I went in there for) and I fell in love with the bright colours of the collection. Amy Tan always brings out her signature style in her collection but I really loved Rise & Shine. It just caught my eye for some reason and I ended up coming out with one of everything...OOPS!

I had these two pictures of my son taken about a week after her turned one. He was lucky enough to get a teepee from his grandparents (my parents) and his Aunty Morgan. He had so much fun when we set this thing up..peeping out the little window and squealing with delight!
I am so glad I captured these fun moments on camera.

This paper also leant itself very well to using as a background. It wasn't an overwhelming in your face pattern, but rather subtle and I really liked the sun and clouds in the top left of the paper and used them to my advantage, even using the clouds as a space to journal!

I have also used some gel medium and the gorgeous Amy Tan stencils that came with the collection to create some subtle texture on the background. The gorgeous paper plane was from the die cut pack.

I have really enjoyed working with the collection. I have created so many layouts from it already and love that they are looking so bright and happy.

I hope you enjoyed this little look.

Much love,

Project Life 2014 Catch Up ~ Week 20

Hi guys, back again with another Project Life spread from my 2014 album of Elijah. Sadly I didn't get a process video filmed for this layout as I created it late at night.
This was a harder spread for me to create because it featured a lot of red and I am going to admit right now that I am not the hugest fan of red and I also find it harder to create with. I don't actually know why. I can deal with small amounts of red but in larger amounts I find it hard to work with.

I chose the red and the blue to work with because of my son's Mickey Mouse outfit in the top left corner and in the bottom right although they are black and white he is actually wearing a Mickey Mouse hooded towel on his head. So that is where the inspiration came from.

Once again I have used a mixture of brands of cards on the spread from Sunshine (by Elsie & Emma) and cards from Pebbles and Jen Hadfield. I am really enjoying the process of Project Life'ing now that I am not restricted by brands, but instead working with colour.

I didn't actually have all that many photos for this week either, so I chose to spread them out collectively over the page and balance the design and colour of all the 'filler' cards.

This red card is from the gorgeous SUNSHINE kit by Elsie & Emma for Project Life by Becky Higgins. I loved this range with it's bright colours and bold and funky designs. It was such a bold and bright red to work with that to be honest it was a little intimidating. I paired it with some white, cork and a beautiful die cut from the Amy Tan Stitched collection.

I love how the title card turned out for this week. I believe this is a JEN HADFIELD design from the Project Life by Becky Higgins mini kit. I love the black chevron, it's gorgeous. If Jen Hadfield does one thing well it's gorgeous bold but simple designs. I used a colour magic star from Heidi Swapp coloured with some Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Stain and some flocked red thickers, a cork arrow and some of that gorgeous gold sequin trim that I have been obsessed with.

First of all, I am obsessed with these pictures of my son! I think he looks so cute and the one of him crying to right I LOVE. I hope that is not a bad thing but I feel like it really captures 'real life' I mean babies aren't cute and smiling all the time. Most of the time it's baby puke, smell nappies and crying. Well not most of the time...but some of the time and those times are worth documenting too!

Finally I will leave you with a picture of my journalling for the week. Once again I have used my typewrite to journal on my card and I am sure that this card is also from the Jen Hadfield collection. I loved the simple design and it was perfect for capturing the week in words. I used a DIY Shop chalkboard tab to repeat the week number up the top. I love the effect of having little bits and bobs sticking out the top of my album. To me it adds a little bit more texture.

I hope you have enjoyed a look at another spread.

Much love,

Hooray (Chloe) ~ 12x12 Layout & Process Video

Hello everyone again! I am back to share this gorgeous layout I made using the fabulous new Pinkfresh Studio Up in the Clouds collection. The collection is so happy, bright and fun and was so fabulous to use on this black and white photo of my niece.

I used mostly embellishments and papers from the collection however I added a few bits and bobs left over from other projects and some pieces from older Studio Calico kits. I also used some more of that gorgeous pink tissue paper that THE SCRAPPERY kits come wrapped in.

I have also recorded a process video of how I put the layout together. You can check it out here;

I also took some close ups to capture the detail.

I love how the gelatos that I used helped to soften the background and make those bright bold colours a tad more subtle...because I know that sometimes that bright bold patterns can be daunting to work with. I also added some zig zag stitching up the time. I have found a new love with my sewing machine again!

The gold 'Hooray' title was left over from the February SCRAPPERY kits and I thought the gold worked really well with this layout. I also broke out my favourite Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Stain for this layout again. I have a slight addiction to using that stuff!

And one last sneak peek at the layout. I hope you enjoyed this look at this layout I created using these Pinkfresh Studio products. I had a lot of fun making it and I am having fun getting back into traditional scrapbooking.

Much love,

Project Life 2014 Catch Up ~ Week 17

Hey guys I am back today with another catch up post from my 2014 album.
I love how this one turned out!
I used a mixture of cards from Dear Lizzy and some from what I believe to be Heidi Swapp maybe? I sometimes suck at recalling the brands of certain cards since I sort things by colour these days.
I love the colours mostly in this layout and the gorgeous glittery gold. Did I mention that those gorgeous gold glitter word phrases are my favourite at the moment?

So here is the full spread...

Here's the process video for this layout. I really had a good time putting it together.

I hope you enjoy the video. Please rate and give a thumbs up if you like it & I would love you to subscribe to my channel.

I loved these cute pictures of my son. I kept it pretty simple with a small cluster in the corner and some simple vellum to soften the lime green of the flower cluster behind.

I think the title card is my favourite on this spread, well really the title card and the Dear Lizzy doggie card beside it. I love the gold and navy together. Such a gorgeous combination.

I wanted to include this doggy card from the Dear Lizzy polka dot party kit because  I had a photo of my son laying on the floor with my beagle Louie. I thought I might document a bit about their special relationship.

And a last little look at the spread. I love how this one turned out too. This circle die cut is from the Crate Paper Notes & Things Project Life value kit. It says, "One thousand goodnight kisses." I thought it was rather appropriate for this gorgeous black and white photo of my son sleeping. I could kiss him all day!

I hope you enjoyed another look at another catch up layout.

Much love,

Friends ~ 12x12 Layout

I am sharing another layout using the Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine collection. I love how this one turned out. I used some white card stock and a couple of patterns to sort of divide the page into two parts. I have also used a design technique that works really well for me by placing embellishments and elements diagonally across the page. I was working with a small photo and I sometimes find these really hard on a 12x12 layout to 'fill' the space so to speak.

I love this picture. It was taken at my engagement party and is of two lovely ladies, Wendy & Susan. These ladies are like my second Mum's. When I was first living in Launceston away from home and in my first job they were so supportive. I even lived with Susan! I met them through the scrapbooking community and a friendship blossomed!

They are seriously hilarious! They were also super helpful when Elijah was born. Instead of visiting just for baby cuddles they came over, cleaned my house, got Elijah to sleep, let me sleep, cooked scones you name it! That's the kind of friends they are. The kind of friends you always want to keep.

I used one of the pieces from the die cut pack to do my journalling on and I have tucked this into the layers of paper I have used underneath my photo. I thought it was really fitting since the die cut said 'Here's the story". I also used my sewing machine on this layout. It's been dug out of a dusty cupboard recently and I am using it again on layouts. Since it is permanently set up I am more likely to use it! I used the 'extra' threads to tuck behind the left hand corner of the photo.

I once again used the Amy Tangerine stencils from the Rise & Shine collection with some gel medium to create these gorgeous triangles on the background. I love working with gel medium. Unlike a modelling paste it dries clear so you can add subtle effect to backgrounds. It also works really well if you add some crushed up gelato to the modelling paste and colour it.

Here's one last peek at the layout. I really love how it turned out and I can't wait to share more layouts and projects using this gorgeous collection.

Much love,

Project Life 2014 Catch Up ~ Week 23

As you can probably tell I am on a bit of a roll with getting caught up with this album, thank goodness. There is some kind of sense of achievement every time I finish a spread - I am just that little bit closer. I am somewhat working back chronologically because the pages that are more recent I am more likely to remember which means I need to get the older ones done first before I totally forget. I must embarrassingly admit that I only got WEEK 2 finished the other day because I was waiting on photos from my sister to complete that spread all this time since we were in QLD and I really wanted to include the family reunion photos since Elijah was in them.

I really like the colour combo on this spread and it's one that I have found myself reaching out for quire a lot; blues, yellows and golds! Rather gorgeous I think. Once again a mix of cards; Dear Lizzy, Project Life Kiwi, Crate Paper Notes & Things and even some Studio Calico cards.

Overall pretty happy with how it turned out. I combined a bit of typewritten and handwritten journalling this week for something a little bit different. I loved the mixture and I managed to get a lot of journalling down on the spread which is something I am trying to do a lot more of.

Sorry for the darkness of these close ups it's been rather crappy weather here lately and so capturing decent photos has been a challenge. This card I believe is from the Dear lizzy Daydreamer card collection. I used a Heidi Swapp stamp and did some hand journalling.

I am struggling to remember which collection this foiled gold card comes from. I want to say Crate Paper Notes & Things so for the sake of having an answer we will go with that. I found that little strip a perfect base for some typewritten journalling. I wrote about how he really looks like a 'little boy' in these photos and not a baby. I also was talking about the fact that I think he has my eyes. It's hard to say because Adam and I both have brown eyes but my eyes have more warmth than Adam's eyes do which are almost piercingly dark. I love that Elijah has my eyes.

This gorgeous filler card is from the Dear Lizzy Project Life Lucky Charm value kit. I love it. It's so gorgeous. I have added a gorgeous collation of hearts, sequins, enamel dots and a beautiful blue resin flower. I love how it turned out on this gorgeous kraft base.

The yellow title card is a card from the Crate Paper Notes & Things value kit. I loved the different shades of yellow! I added a yellow flower from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection, a Silhouette cut, sequins, enamel dots and some gorgeous black heart rub ons from My Minds Eye. The touch of gold in the title was to tie in all the gorgeous gold tones in the spread.

This top card was my weekly journalling card. We spent this week housesitting for one of my friends and Elijah absolutely LOVED her dog. Was able to write a lot about that.

Finally I added some embellishments from the value kit, some stickers from the Notes & Things sticker sheet and the gorgeous blue mason jar is from the Lucky Charm value kit. I know these mason jars have been popular and I have been really bad at using them because I wasn't sure 'how'. I teamed it with these gorgeous Maggie Holmes Open Book florals to make them look like they were siting in the jar. I think it turned out cute!

I hope you enjoyed this look at another one of my catch up spreads.

Much love,

Project Life 2014 Catch Up ~ Week 18 & 19

Back again with another catch up post for Elijah's album. I am getting closer and closer every week to having this album finished and I can't wait to see the end product and have a boo that shows my son's first year in close detail. This has been my favourite project since I have started scrapbooking by far! I made a pregnancy album using a 6x8 Snap Simple Stories album when I was pregnant and that comes in at a close second. Finally having someone in my life that is so photogenic (and really has no choice to have his photo taken) gives me so much more to scrapbook about!

I didn't actually have many photos this week, in fact the photos on this spread are all from the same photoshoot apart from one in the top row of the left hand side which is a photo of all the babies lined up at mothers group. I love this photo because I have such a lovely connection with these ladies and Elijah has made such good friends with the other babies.

I managed to film a process video for this spread. I hope you enjoy it!

And here are the close ups of my finished spread.

I once again used my typewriter for the journalling this week. I think I mentioned it in the video but my typewriter was playing up and created some shadowing underneath so I used to golden arrow from one of the Heidi Swapp value kits to cover this up. I think scrapbooking is all about mistakes and finding creative ways to fix them.

I had this "this happened" sticker in my stash for a long time. It came in a kit and is from the Amy Tan Plus One collection. I really wanted to get it used up as it was the last sticker on the sheet and I hate having those laying around in my stash for too long. I am trying my best not to 'hoard' scrapbooking things anymore.

I love this picture of my son. He looks so surprised but so cute at the same time! I used one of those gorgeous ribbon flags from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection and teamed it with a little collection of embellishments. I love the little fabric brad also from the Open Book collection.

Here's my title card for the week. I have used one of the Project Life cards from the Plus One mini collection. I love how it sort of 'frames' the title. I am not actually sure what collection these thickers are from but they are sort a grey rubber/vinyl.
I used some more bits and pieces from the Maggie Holmes Open Book collection including some of the vellum phrases and a brad. I love the touches of orange.

I made this 4x6 filler card. Originally I thought this would be the base for the weekly title card but it didn't seem to work so I made it into a filler card instead. I like the touch of machine stitching and to me it somehow makes it feel a little more 'handmade'

I hope you enjoyed this look at another layout in my Elijah album.

Much love,

Happy ~ 12x12 Layout

I'm back to share another layout that I created with THE SCRAPPERY's gorgeous February kits. This was the first project that I created when I opened the kits and I loved the kits SO MUCH that I made this the very day I received them in the mail. Last year Crate Paper released their valentines day collection called LOVE NOTES and I absolutely loved that one too and they have done it again this year with their valentines collections KISS KISS. It's so gorgeous. I love the golds, pink and woodgrains together. Crate Paper is such a fantastic company.

I also created a process video putting this layout together. I must say that I was partly inspired by a layout I saw on Pinterest where they had used two triangles on opposing corners to basically 'frame' the photograph and it has some way of leading your eye into the photograph. That's what I loved about this design and I think it's a design that I will want to use again.

I hope you enjoyed watching the process video! Make sure you go and subscribe to THE SCRAPPERY'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL. I share all my process videos using the kits over there.

Here's the first close up of the layout. I just love this picture of my son and I love showing that you can use 'girly' products on a page with a male. I don't mind using pink and flowers on his pages because I love him and this page shows that.

I have been also channeling my inner Wilna Fustenberg and journalling straight onto my page. It's risky and it takes some courage and bravery. I just go slow and try to go with the flow. I don't totally love my handwriting but it's something I am working on improving.

This gorgeous sequin butterfly from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge collection is just fabulous! I love sequins and this added just the perfect touch of 'bling' to this page. I attached it to the page with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. You can also see in this close up the gorgeous rub on I have used on the bottom of my photo. I love the quote 'You are my sun, my moon & all of my stars'. I think I really want this as a quote in my son's bedroom. It's so beautiful.

So here is the last close up and I am so happy with how this layout turned out.
I hope you have enjoyed this look at it.

Much love,

Me & You ~ 12x12 Layout

So today I wanted to come and share a layout I did recently using the February kits for THE SCRAPPERY. The month of February was very love themed and can you believe that this is the only love themed layout that I created? My partner and I took this silly car selfie on the way to somewhere and I love how it turned out because we both look so happy.

I won't lie it has been a totally stressful 12 months and so to capture a happy photo is really special. We have had some many downs. I know life is full of ups and downs but it's hard to stay positive when there are so many negative things and so many stresses going on in your life..but I am still here...still breathing!

I also recorded a process video for this layout which if you subscribe to my YouTube channel you wouldn't have seen as these Scrappery videos are only available for viewing on The Scrappery YouTube sure to go and subscribe over there!

I hope you enjoy watching it. I thought it was a rather fun layout to put together.

Here are some close up images of the finished layout. I used a rotary alpha stamp to stamp the 'lovely' words over the page and I have used my trusty typewriter for the journalling. I keep a stack of 4x6 white Project Life cards to run through my typewriter for journalling strips. I also absolutely adore the Pink Paislee Bella rouge sequin butterfly. I think that is my favourite part of this page.

The last close up of my page. I used a lot of arrows on this page. My friend pointed out to me that I usually 'point' my arrows on my pages to the right and apparently it is because I am right handed so on this page I pointed them to the left on the top half of the page and to the right on the bottom half. I thought that balanced it out a bit ;) I have also really been enjoying making these 'ink splatters' with the Tim Holtz Distress Stain and I can't wait to get my hands on the new colours that are being released monthly. I have ordered the January and February colours and the Mermaid Lagoon looks amazing!

I hope you liked a little look at this layout.
Will be back with more soon!

Much love,

Lucky (Friends) ~ 12x12 Layout

Today I wanted to come by and share a page that I did recently about a topic that I just don't scrapbook enough about, friends! I am so blessed and lucky to have such awesome friends in my life. I mean I have the type of friends that you could call any hour of the day anytime for help and they would just be there. I know it! I may not have a large group of friends but I have some pretty awesome friends! It's also rare to scrapbook a page where I am behind the camera and it isn't some gross no make up, hair not done selfie. This photo was actually taken at my engagement party and I am pretty sure I was 6 months pregnant. So I had no choice but to make myself up. I mean it was my engagement party!

I found this Rise & Shine collection by Amy Tangerine when I was browsing the shelves at Spotlight and by some shock reason my Spotlight actually had the entire collection in stock which is rare given that it's only a C/D grade store. I actually fell in love with the collection. I mean it is somewhat similar to previous collection (I sort of thought it reminded me of Sketchbook) but I loved the brights and whimsical feel to it. So what can a girl do but buy one of everything?

I know right!

Unfortunately I just couldn't wait to dig my hands into the collection and in this house it meant scrapbooking late at night while prying my eyes open with toothpicks and wishing I could take coffee intravenously (spelling?) So it means I didn't get a process video filmed for this layout. The light is too poor at night time and during the day I am fighting the seconds and minutes to have a coffee, pee alone and sometimes even walk without having a small child swinging off my trouser legs. Hence sometimes waiting for daylight filming time is like waiting for the day I will climb Mount Everest. Sometimes a girl just has to scrap.

I loved clustering the little embellishments and I even used some bits from the OLD Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste line (I think!) <<little red puffy camera. All the labels are from a piece of patterned paper in the collection and I chopped the up and sewed them to the page. Real technical terms there! I am on a bit of a sewing binge at the moment. Not even quite sure why. I thought I had gotten rid of that obsession a long while ago, but it appears not.

So there's a final look at my page.
Pretty happy with how it turned out and pretty happy to have a page scrapped about my awesome friends. They really are the spice of life.

Much love till next time,
