Project Life ~ Week 2

So I am here to share Week 2 of my Project Life for 2015. I know this is a bit weird as I have already shared Week 3. This is because I was working in chronological order however when I received my SCRAPPERY KIT it worked better with my week 3 photos as I had photographs of ice creams and strawberries. This week I used a selection of cards from The Scrappery, Dear Lizzy and Heidi Swapp Colour Magic. This is the first week this year that I have got all my photos on a two page spread and not had to add an extra insert.

I loved how this spread turned out. I don't even know why. I think it is mostly because I love these cake smash photos of my son so much. I didn't want to make the spread too 'blue' so I kept the other cards that I used in bright happy colours. I love the bright yellow of the lemon zest delusions spray. You can see how I have used this in the process video below;

I have used a fair bit of mist on this layout even some of the Wake me up before you go gold mist from Lindy's stamp gang and also some Gelatos. I am loving using my gelatos at the moment.

On my title card I have used the Amy Tangerine brush script thickers. I love these thickers and they really make the title card stand out. The flower is from the Maggie Holmes Open book collection nd the cluster in the top corner is a collection of older things I had sitting in my stash.

I used a Dear Lizzy card to do my week's journalling on and chose to handwrite this rather than use the typewriter. I do like to mix it up and use written and typed journalling. The filler card featuring the balloon is from a Dear Lizzy collection and I scattered a collection of mist, sequins, rhinestones and wood veneer to act like 'confetti'.

These are the gorgeous cake smash photos that I was talking about. I just love them. I am lucky to have a sister that is such a good photographer. She did a fantastic job at catching my son's happy and carefree spirit. It got so messy but it was all so worth it.

The converse card is possibly my favourite. I used one of the Heidi Swapp Colour Magic cards and sprayed it with the Lemon Zest Dylusions spray. I also blotted some of the gold mist over the top. The thickers are an older Amy Tangerine set. I am sad that these converse only fit my son about twice and he has already grown out of them. :(

I hope you enjoyed this look at my week 2 spread. Next up I will be sharing my week 4 spread and also some of the spreads I have been catching up on for 2014 in my son's first year album.

Much love,

Project Life ~ Week 3

So trying to keep on top of things and I am proud to say that my Project Life for this year I am keeping up to date. I believe this is because I have implemented better planning. I think for a structured project life Project Life that you really need to 'plan'. That also seems to be a trending theme in the scrapbooking industry at the moment with all the planning craze!
It's a real shame that us Aussie's have been missing out a little as most of the planners are stuck on the docks in America due to an industrial strike. I personally have ordered myself one of the Heidi Swapp planners. I originally was going to go with Webster's Pages planner but after seeing a closer look, realised that the HS style was more me. You can see the planner I have picked below. Isn't it gorgeous?

To curb my impatient waiting I have been going crazy pinning my planning ideas on THE SCRAPPERY Pinterest Planning board. Feel free to check it out.
So in the meantime I have been using printable planning sheets but I can't wait to get this planner because I plan to incorporate some blog planning in there too. I want to make this blog a bit more trendy and get a more regular with my posting now that I am head first back into creating!

So speaking of THE SCRAPPERY. Which I hope you have all checked out *wink*
I have created my WEEK 3 spread using the January Scrappery Project Life kit (Pretty Little Kit) Just to do a little brag here, I want to say that we are the only Australian kit club to do exclusive project life cards to match the kit. They are so gorgeous. Nae my business partner does an incredible job of designing. When I received the kit I knew straight away which photos I wanted to use which is partly why we are jumping in a week three spread when I haven't yet shared week 2.

I have shown the spread twice since I have actually placed a 6x8 pocket in between as I had so many photos from this week. You can get a better look at this on the video. I really like how it turned out and I love having the ability to add extra pockets where I need them.

Here's the process video showing how I went about creating this spread;

I loved using the gold sequin trim in this kit. It came in ORLA which was the embellishment kit for January and I hope you don't get sick of it because I have put it on my last 5 or 6 layouts and spreads. Just a tiny bit addicted!
I have also used this gorgeous picture of my niece. She looks scarily identical to my sister.

The card of my son eating an ice cream is actually a part of a 3x4 lift up pocket which then reveals an extra 3x4 card and a photo. I wanted to include both photos but was pushing it for room on the layout so this worked really well. You can see a photo of it lifted up at the bottom of this blog post.

This is why I knew I had to use this kit for this week because it was PERFECT. I had photos of ice creams and strawberries both of which were included as stickers and die cuts in the kits.

So I hope you enjoyed this look at my WEEK 3 spread. I will be editing my week two process video today and having it uploaded for you very soon. I can't wait to share.

Much love.

Project Life Plans for 2015

My first Project Life blog post for 2015.
I wanted to come by and share with you my thoughts and plans for Project Life for 2015.

This is my first year doing Project Life as a whole family thing and not being totally directed to my son's first year album (which I still have not finished, however he only turned one last week). It is really exciting to be able to pull out pink and flowers (not that I really loved flowers) and sparkly things again. I have been really enjoying the process.

I might start off with the process video;

In this video I show you the start of my Project Life book.
Here are some links to the videos I have mentioned
Video for Cover Page
Video for Week One

I was really happy with how it has turned out so far.

I've been very inspired by what everyone has been sharing of their 2015 plans and covers on Pinterest. I'm a bit of a Pinterest whore actually. You can find my Pinterest board here.

A bit of *eye candy*

Anyway I am going to finish this blog post off with a little look at my WEEK ONE spread. I seriously like totally can't believe it is two thousand and fifteen already!!! When did that even happen and when did my boy turn ONE? Time flies too quickly!

Week One Project Life Spread

You can find the process video for this spread linked up above.
I really had a lot of fun with this page. I got the gelatos out and used up a heap of older product.
I am trying to just not worry about the 'hot and trendy' product this year and use up my stash! Let's face's about the memories and not the product. That's why I scrapbook/project life anyway << although sometime I do lose my way. Haha.

I took two pictures of the spread as I have a 6x8 insert in between so have photographed it flipped over to both sides. You can see its  little better on the video. I am loving using up some of these inserts. I bought these for my Pregnancy Snap! binder and still have a heap left and they fit so beautifully into these 3 ring binders.

Do you know what? That pink and orange Amy Tangerine fabric camera sticker has been in stash for years and I don't say that lightly...I do mean years. I think it was from the Sketchbook line? Well I FINALLY got it used on a page and it fits so perfectly with this week's spread as I had chosen to go with a pink and orange theme.

So I hope you enjoyed this little look at my plans and also my process and completed week one spread.

I am looking forward to sharing a lot more as the weeks, month and year ticks by.
