Crazy Crafters Blog Hop ~ with Lisa Curcio

I am back again with another blog post with a fabulous blog hop with the Crazy Crafters featuring LISA CURCIO. If you haven't checked out her blog you will want to, her work is amazing.
I am particularly in awe of her fancy fold and fancy cut cards.
She is a very talented lady.

The theme of our blog hops are to case the person we feature. In this case it will be one of Lisa's gorgeous projects.

When I saw this gorgeous card I fell in love with the design and the fact that it was split with enough room for the sentiment in the gap. I also just acquired this stamp set (Paisleys & Posies) in my stash so thought there was no time like the present to get it out and have a play.

I am becoming a firm believer in not letting things 'sit' in my stash. I just want to use them right away! It means that by the time things retire they will have been well loved and that is the way stamps should be. We don't want them to be unseen!

So here is my card. I kept the basic card the same and just added a few of my signature touches. These days my cards wouldn't be complete without a bit of linen thread of twine and I added my new love...metal rimmed pearls.
I also sponged the edges with Sahara Sand to give it a bit more definition.

I love the dimension that stamping flat as well as cutting some of the posies out on the Big Shot and raising them up on dimensionals gives. I think I will be repeating this on another card soon.

I just had to add some linen thread. I think it gives it a nice homemade touch.
I stuck to a four colour scheme with Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy. I tried not to overwhelm myself with colours but also wanted to try something a little different.

Finally I had to decorate the inside of the card as usual. It doesn't take much time but gives that extra bit of pizzazz!

This card has already been written in and passed on to a lovely friend and customer!
It's just as important to give cards as it is to make them.

Thank you so much Lisa for the inspiration!

Global Design Project #064 ~ Fabulous Friend

I am so excited to be playing along with the Global Design Project this week.
It's my first time playing along with it.
I always say that I am going to and somehow it always slips my mind *naughty*
This week the challenge was to CASE (copy and selectively edit) one of Connie Collin's gorgeous cards that you can see up on The Global Design Project blog. it's an amazing card.

You know what though, upon searching for something to use on the card I realised I am in severe shortage of floral stamp sets. WHAT?
How did that happen?
I thought I loved all things girly and floral, but apparently I don't buy them!
So I conquered one of my creative challenges and decided to use *for the first time* a stamp set that had me stumped, that I didn't know how to use.
Yes, you heard right. I have NEVER used the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set or punch bundle.
Today I can finally say, it's been inked!

I also really loved the dapper denim and melon mambo combination and think that I will be using that again in the near future.
I ended up CASE'ing the basic layout of Connie's card and the idea of a floral.
Luckily I have some new floral sets on the way soon!

I have finished off the card with the gorgeous sentiment and banner from Bunch of Banners. That's also a new stamp set to my ever growing stash and I just love it.
It comes with matching thinlets which I love, because who seriously enjoys fussy cutting?
Even those petals came with a punch!

I think the card looks finished with that gorgeous Fancy Frost specialty paper which I snapped up in the Online Extravaganza sale last week. Bargain!

I hope you get time to play along with the Global Design project too!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop ~ with Cindy Schuster

I am so excited to be taking part in the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop today with Cindy Schuster.
I feel so privileged to take part in a blog hop with her, as her work is nothing short of amazing. She is currently on the Stampin' Up artisan team, and no surprise when you see her work.
You can check out her blog here. (or click below to see her part in the blog hop)

This is her gorgeous card that I CASE'd. (copied & selectively edited) As you can see I've done my won take on this as I've moved the panel down and used the gorgeous designer acetate as the layering piece. I've also added the linen thread instead of the ribbon.

I was excited to have a play with one of the brand new sets out of the Occasions Catalogue. This is one of the hostess only sets and includes a flower pot which you can layer with flowers to achieve different colours.
The top layer I have copper embossed, which was inspired by a sample I saw at Onstage.

I have used Mint Macaron and Watermelon wonder on the flowers and love how they work together. I then decided that the 2015-2017 in colours would work well together so I used Tip Top Taupe on the flower case and the Delightful Dijon on the sentiment. I love how it came together.

I have also used some of the GORGEOUS new glassine paper from the Sending Love suite out of the Occasions Catalogue to layer between the black card stock and the Designer Acetate. I love the extra texture that it gives.

Finally here is the centre of the card which I have finished with Crumb Cake card stock and a gorgeous phrase stamped from the same stamp set in Tip Top Taupe.
I have also used Watercolour Wings to stamp one of those gorgeous butterflies in Delightful Dijon.

To see what everyone else has created on the blog hop, see the list below.
There are some amazing projects!
