#GDP072 ~ Everyone needs a Friend Like You

I am so excited to be back again and on a roll with an entry ALREADY into Global Design Project for this week. I am super organised for once.
I think personally it was this amazing challenge to CASE (copy & selectively edit) the amazing Krista Frattin. Her work is stunning!

Before I get into the project that I created for the challenge, I am so happy because this happened...

YEP! I got a special mention for Global Design Project last week which was to create a 3D project. I created those very fun Popcorn boxes. There were so many lovely projects.

Here is the lovely project to CASE for this week by Krista.
I took the basic layout that she had created which I LOVED due to it's simplicity. I added a few 'Kayla' touches and decided to be brave and scribble around the outside edge of my DSP. Eeeeekkk! I do like the effect though and I am glad to be getting into more of that DSP.

I love using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. They are a lot of fun and I will never get tired of them.
For those that didn't know, they are available to order again!
I just popped an order in for those for a lovely customer last night. Get in quick!

I have also used these gorgeous May Flowers Framelits for the first time. I got them in the big sale Stampin' Up had at the end of last year and haven't used them. I think moving house contributed to not stamping for a while. I love the combination of a couple of different pink tones here.
I have used Melon Mambo for the card base and then Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride for those gorgeous flowers.

I couldn't of course call it complete without decorating the inside of the card, so I used another sentiment from Suite Sentiments to stamp on the inside. I love the finished look it gives.

I hope you have enjoyed another one of my posts.

I am off to jump into my lovely LUSH bubble bath and read some of my book (it's my challenge to read more this year!) and hopefully do some CREATING tonight. I have plenty of blog hops coming up.

xx

#GDP071 ~ Ready to Pop Popcorn Boxes

I was so excited to share my best friend's baby shower with her yesterday.
We have been best friends for seven years this year which may not seem like many but gosh we have had so much fun and so many memories. Catie was 17 and I was 19 when we first met and we were young and fun and ready to party and now we are both on the journey of motherhood. It's funny how much time flies!
This is us in our young (and skinny) days when we were both apprentice chef's together.
Gosh the memories fly back...

She is a lovely lovely godmother to my son and I absolutely can't wait to meet her baby in March. She doesn't know the gender of her baby so I kept these Popcorn favour boxes that I made for her baby shower gender neutral an just loved how they turned out.

It also really fits into the Global Design Team challenge for this week which is an off to page OR 3D item. What a great time to have completed these gorgeous boxes, just in time ;)

There are so many gorgeous examples by both the design team and the entrants!

I used the scalloped edge as I love the cute retro popcorn box look that it gives. It's just great.
I have also combined a few stamp sets. I really wanted a texture stamp and I just love the grungey spots from Timeless Textures so I have stamped those tone on tone on the Smokey Slate background. The ready to pop and popcorn pieces are from the Ready to Pop Stamp Set and cut with the Layering Circle Framelits. The thank you banner is stamped and cut from the Banners for you set and the bee is from Shooting Stars.
I think it was a great use of stamps I already had in my stash.

I filled the boxes with tiny gusseted clear bags with some popcorn and tied them with some white bakers twine and they were good to go and everybody that came along just loved them!

It was such a fun project to make and such a fun day!

Thank you so much of reading along with my post about my project for Global Design Project.

I also wanted to sneak a reminder in here about the Crazy Crafters Tutorial bundle.
Stampin' Up customers and demonstrators alike can purchase this bundle for just $25AUD and it includes 21 PROJECTS! How amazing is that?
I have a project in there too. :) Sneak peek on mine is the first square.

You can purchase the bundle here.

Friday Card ~ Love is in the Air Mail

Another Friday has come upon us and I can't believe it's not only the end of the week but also near the end of the month!
    Where did January go?
We had a great Australia Day yesterday, roast lamb on the BBQ, yum!
Also today marks 3 years since my due date with my first and only child, Elijah. Three years ago today it was so hot and I was SO pregnant, like a whale and desperately wanting my baby boy to arrive. He didn't arrive however until the 6th of February. I can't believe he's almost 3!!

    Anyway onto something creative.
I made these cards for a Crazy Crafters swap that I took part in and I decided to embrace a style that I am not very good at and that is SIMPLE!
I have kept things very simple with a couple of layers of card stock, some basic stamping and minimal embellishments, but how cute are those tiny little envelopes?

I have entered my card this week into the Crazy Crafter Team Project Highlights.
I love seeing what all the other talented crafters make each week.

I have used a mixture of Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride to create me swatch look behind that gorgeous little envelope that you can create using the matching framelits. They are so itty bitty and cute!

In exciting Stampin' Up news, there are more Sale-a-Bration items coming on the 21st of February. How exciting is that?
    All only while supplies last.
Remember for every $90 you spend you are entitled to one free Sale-a-Bration item.
There are so many to choose from.

This is what is available right now but there will be more items available on February 21st, all only while stocks last so get what you would like now!

The papers are gorgeous and those stamps sets are fabulous.
The Hey Chick stamp set has already gone on backorder once, it's been so popular!
