Memories & More Perfect Day ~ Memory Keeping

Hello lovely blog readers.
I hope you are having a fabulous day/night wherever you may be.
I have had a very quiet day at home and to be honest I've been a bit under the weather. I haven't been getting much done and so I sat at my desk and thought up a project to work on.

I have a little secret to tell you...I was primarily a scrapbooker/memory keeper before I ever even attempted to make a card, in fact making cards isn't easy for me as I a scrapbooker through and through BUT I stopped scrapbooking for TWO years in between moving houses and some life changes. It was all to hard to pack up, move, unpack etc...

So with the ease of the brand new Memories & More line from Stampin' Up! I was able to make this two page spread with very minimal supplies and keep a nice clean aesthetic...
AND...I really enjoyed it.

Here's a little up and close of the actual card kit and some of the samples provided by Stampin' Up! As you can see it's not limited to just memory keeping but also making cards and even scrapbook pages!

I used two types of pocket page protectors, a divided 3x4 pocket and a 6x8 pocket.
I loved mixing the two, and I am all for mixing it up.
I probably won't even put these in a 6x8 album, why not mix them in with 12x12 pages in a traditional 12x12 sized album? I will share more on my album organisation soon!

For this particular page I have used the Perfect Days Memories & More Card pack as the inspiration and stuck with the colour palette; Emerald Envy, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist with touches of Black. I love how it turned out.

I really enjoyed using the brand new Circle Tab Punch and the Tabs for Everything bundle to create this gorgeous tab to create interest on the top of one of my cards.
This bundle and punch is great for both the new planner as well as memory keeping!
I have already used this bundle a tonne!

I also wasn't afraid to get out my black marker and just hand write my journalling. Usually I am pretty afraid and ashamed of my hand writing but I am a big advocate for it being an important part of the memory keeping process!

I decided to focus on just one picture on the right hand side and chose a simple neutral colour to highlight it. I LOVE Crumb Cake, it's one of my favourite colours.
I have used the gorgeous plain striped badge from the Badges & Banners stamp set and punch to help create a cluster in the bottom right corner.

I'm happy with how this turned out and decided to go all inspired by Dena Rekow and use some ink splatters to add some extra interest to the page.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how this page came together and I can't wait to share more with you. If you are local to me, keep your eye out as I will be doing memory keeping classes very soon!

Also don't forget...

You Brighten My Day ~ Daisy Delight

Happy Friday everyone and YAY for the weekend.
You have to love it when a weekend rolls around. I can't wait for a good weekend with friends and family. I am even having a curry night on Saturday night. Can't wait!

I was feeling a bit creative this morning and it might have had something to do with the fact that my Daisy punch finally arrived.
Can you believe that this punch sold out within two weeks of it being released. It exceeded it's yearly sale expectations in the first two weeks. How crazy is that? A good kind of crazy though, as it just means that you guys LOVE it.

I teamed this bundle with the Petal Burst embossing folder and some of the new In Colours for 2017-2019; Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.

A bit of Gold Glam to really finish it off. I love a bit of sparkle (let's face it ... on every card)

I love the texture of the Tranquil Tide in the background and think it adds a lot of interest.
I dug out of my embossing folders today and put them within easy reach so hopefully it encourages me to use them more often!

Of course like usual, I have decorated the inside of my card and added a panel of Berry Burst to finish off the inside.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card today.

If you like the look of my card and would like to vote for my card and check out everyone else's cards check out Kylie's blog here.

Have a Magical Birthday - Magical Mermaid

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to my blog where I am sharing another card with you all today using the gorgeous Magical Mermaid stamp set. I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it and even more so when I saw it used over in the Crafty Peach blog.

That is actually what inspired this card which I had kept up my sleeve for someone special and so when my good friend Jodie was celebrating her birthday today I didn't see a better time!

It was also the perfect opportunity to use the new GLOSSY cards stock which allows you to try the coolest techniques. Here I have used a combination of Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Pool Party with some Rubbing Alcohol to create a beautiful background.

I added some texture with the new Copper Trim and some Linen Thread. I love it when you splay out the trim it looks like netting which is perfect for this underwater scene. I also added some beautiful blue iridescent sequins from the new catalogue.

Of course it just wouldn't be finished without making a personalised hand stamped envelope. I even added Jodie's name from the Labeller Alphabet stamp set.

Here's a look at the stamped inside with a matching mermaid and gorgeous sentiment.

Thanks so much for reading my blog today and I really hope you enjoyed looking at this card that I created using the Magical Mermaid stamp set. Xx
