Sharing Sweet Thoughts ~ Ronald McDonald House Card

Hi lovely blog readers!
I am back again sharing a card that I made featuring the SHARING SWEET THOUGHTS stamp set which I absolutely adore as it coordinates so perfectly with the JAR OF LOVE bundle in the annual catalogue. It also is a special stamp set because $3 from every stamp set sold gets donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity, which is a pretty special cause!

I actually CASE'd this design from the Annual Catalogue and added a bit of my own spin on it with a few more embellishments and changes to the design.
I love the way it turned out.

I think it would be the perfect 'just because' card to send out to that sweet somebody.
I love those kind of cards, I always think they come at just the right time and sure know how to brighten someone's day.

Here's a close up of the card showing off the different elements and dimension on the card.
I did have to handcut the branches and lady beetles after they were embossed and coloured as they did not have a coordinating die, but they were pretty easy to cut out!

I used the classic label punch and cut out a stamped sentiment on Soft Sky to raise it above the jar for some added dimension and impact on the card. I always like the sentiment to somewhat stand out on the card.

I am also slightly addicted to the tassels from the Eastern Palace suite at the moment and I just love the Gold with the touches of Berry Burst. It feels so regal!

I hope you enjoyed a closer look at another one of my cards.

Crafty hugs.

Merry Cafe ~ Christmas Card

Hello everybody.
I had a great weekend at my first of (what will be) annual Stamp Camps held here locally.
It was great to kick back and be able to craft un-interrupted for the whole weekend.
Who would have thought...no kids as alarm clocks, no washing, no chores and being cooked for all weekend. It was the best!

Because of Stamp Camp I managed to get lots of crafting done and lots of new projects to share with you all here on my blog!
The inspiration was flowing and I am so excited to share it with you all.

Today I thought I would share with you my favourite card that I made all weekend. I don't actually know why I love it so much...it might have something to do with my love of coffee!

I chose to be inspired by the Merry Little Christmas suite with the colour combinations of Old Olive and Basic Black. I love how the black cardstock layer really makes the accents on the card 'pop'.
I did also use some Gold Wink of Stella splatters, but sadly that can't be purchased anymore (insert sad face here!)

I also had lots of fun playing with the Stampin' Blends again. They are fast becoming an addiction and are being featured on most of my projects lately. I just love them!
For the coffee cup I first used some Smoky Slate in the areas I wanted to be darker and then blended over the top with my light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. I love the way it turned out.

For the sentiment I used a mixture of Memento Black stamping and then used some white heat embossing to add the 'Cheer' as an accent word.

To finish off I have embellished with a gold tassel from the Eastern Palace suite, a Boxwood wreath, some gold ribbon, snowflake and gems.
So many different embellishments to make this gorgeous card come to life!

I hope you enjoyed this little show of this card and thank you so much for reading!

Crazy Crafter Highlights - Oh Hello Friend

Hi everyone!
I hope you have all had a lovely week.
I am once again playing along in the Crazy Crafters Weekly Highlights.
I love that as a team we can share what we have been up to and it's always such a creative inspiration clicking around everyone's blogs. Creativity is best when shared!

Today I am sharing the card that I made for my swap when I attended Onstage in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.
This was a relatively quick and simple card that I was able to put together as I made SIXTY of them! Yep...sixty...it was madness. I even had my three year old helping me cut out the bits and get a production line happening.

When making my swap cards I wanted to make something that represented me and for that I knew I just had to go with blues/greens and bright colours. Of course it also needed a touch of gold and I think my personality is bright with a bit of glitter!
They do say everything is better with a bit of sparkle.

To keep the card design simple I decided on using an embossing folder on the background so I could create lots of texture without too much work.
Our embossing folders at Stampin' Up! are great for this and come in so many designs.
For this card I used the Petal Burst embossing folder which you will be able to find linked in the supplies below.

Here's a bit of a close up of the card and some of the texture and embellishments I added.
I just love the crinkle ribbon in Night of Navy (from the Naturally Eclectic suite)
I also added some metallic gold thread, a gold faceted gem and a bit of gold glimmer paper.
The photo probably doesn't do it justice, but I also added lots of clear Wink of Stella to my flower.

I hope you enjoyed this look at my swap card and enjoyed a little look at what was on my craft desk recently.
Please do check out Kylie's blog for the rest of the cards in this week's highlights and if you like my card, I'd love you to vote for it!

Crafty hugs.
