Magical Day ~ Set of Cards

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog.
Today I am sharing some projects that I was lucky enough to be able to make for the Scrapbooks & Cards Today blog.
I deciding when planning my post that I really wanted to feature the Myths & Magic suite of products as I just loved it so much!

I run a regular catalogue launch/bingo event for my customers and I decided these would be the cards we will make at our event as well as getting one of the treat bags full of yummies!

I have featured a card with most of the icons included in the bundle.
I hope you enjoy!

The unicorn is possibly my FAVOURITE. I have a bit of a love affair for unicorns long before they were even popular. How cool is the matching sentiment 'Hope your day is magical?' I just love it.
The matching Designer Series Paper in this suite is to die for and the best bit is that it is all glittered!

I love speciality paper! I decided to stick with a colour combination of Soft Sky, Lemon Lime Twist, Silver, Black and a featured DSP for each card and treat bag.

The mermaid would have to be my second favourite. I love mythical creatures. They are so mysterious *wink*

I loved pulling out the Ombre ribbon for this set of cards as it ties such lovely bows!

Every time I look at the wizard I think of my good friend Jodie.
She LOVES wizards so I thought this would be pretty appropriate for her. It works so well with that beautiful Fresh Fig Designer Series Paper.

I also enjoyed using the Ticket Tear border punch to create a nice edging between the DSP and the Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock.

Lastly, this is a card that my four year old son would love!
He loves all things dragons and anything that is big and scary!
There are so many different ways you could colour this gorgeous dragon.

Here's a look at how I have coloured the images with the watercolour pencils, so you can see close up how I went about colouring for a nice watercolored and blended look.
I coloured darkly around the edges with my chosen colour and then lightly pulled the colour in with a Blender Pen.
I love using the Blender Pen because it doesn't apply too much moisture to the paper which will tear apart the fibres easily.

Here's a close up of the coloured unicorn.
I then added a layer of Clear Wink of Stella for that nice 'Unicorn' look.
Every Unicorn needs a bit of sparkle!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this set of cards that I made.
You can see all the products I have used linked to the bottom of this post.

Happy crafting. xx

Lots of Happy ~ Card Kit

Something I love about Stampin' Up! is the awesome kits that they bring out with each new catalogue.
The brand new kits featured in the brand new Occasions catalogue are no exception. The new Lots of Happy card kit is amazing!
It's an all inclusive kit which means that you literally get EVERYTHING you need to create the projects including ink, clear block, watercolour pencils and even adhesive!
It's an amazing product for brand new stampers/crafters with full colour instructions and no need to already have anything at home.
It would also make the perfect gift!

I had a ball creating these five cards with one of my downline who ran it at a recent class and thought I would come by and show you the finished products here on my blog.

Do you know what is even better? Once you are done with this kit not only do you get to keep the cute box that it comes in but there is a refill kit available so you can make them all again without the need to purchase the starter kit that already includes the stamps, pencils, ink and block!
Winning!

Here's a look at the finished cards...

I must admit that colouring isn't something that comes totally natural to me, but with the ease of Stampin' Up!'s watercolour pencils, I feel like a true artist!

I love that the kit also comes with two exclusive colours in the pencils; Lemon Lime Twist & Flirty Flamingo! How cool is that?

I coloured lightly in some areas and darker in others and then blended them all over with our amazing Blender pens.
You don't really want to use an Aqua Painter with this particular technique as the cardstock will be too thin to take too much water. That is the awesome thing about the Blender Pens.

I love the little vellum leaves that the kit comes with. They work perfectly well with this kit and make for a really soft and romantic feel to these cards.

They also look really beautiful with the Sahara Sand card bases.

These mini cards are so so cute!
The best thing about these too is that you don't have to worry about finding the right envelope to fit these mini cards as the kit also comes with coordinating envelopes.

Here's another little mini card. I love the touches of gold foil. Gold goes with everything!

This was probably my favourite card out of the whole set.
I love those beautiful leaf branches. The mixture of Old Olive and Lemon Lime Twist pencils really makes for a true life colour tone to the branches.

Lastly, a bit of a fun shaped card.
It's not often you will see an octagonal card! Something a bit different and fun.
Isn't that Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon just to die for? Another exclusive from the kit!

I hope you enjoyed this look at the cards I made with the Lots of Happy Card Kit.
I hope it's inspired you to give one of our card kits a go.
They are so much fun and so easy to work with!

Sure Do Love You - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop.
This month we are featuring the ever so gorgeous Painted With Love Suite from the Occasions Catalogue with a special feature on the Sure Do Love You Stamp Set and Painted With Love Designer Series Paper.

When I first saw this new catalogue, this is one of the first suites that I fell in love with.
I love the beautiful rich colours with the gorgeous gold foil and I love that you can use it for so much more than just Valentines Day.
Valentines Day isn't a huge holiday here in Australia, so for me this was the perfect opportunity to just focus on making some projects that are love themed for any time of the year!
Having said this Valentines Day actually falls on my partner and I having been together for 6 months.
It's been an amazing six months and I wanted to make something special for him.

With that in mind I created a gift set comprising of; a handmade card, a gift bag to place a special gift in and a box using the Lots To Love Box and Framelits containing the Narrow Notecards with just four of the reasons why I love him!
It's a bit of a different use for the box than just presenting cards in it. I hope that Declan loves it (well I know he will, because he's a bit of a romantic) and will treasure it for years to come.

Here's a look at the completed gift set ready to go.
I used some repetitive stamping on the gift bag with one of the tiny heart stamps from the Sure Do Love You Stamp Set and then used the heart die from the Lots to Love Box and Framelits to create a repetitive tone on tone background on the coordinating card.
I love repetitive background, it makes for a quick and easy background that is sure to wow.

Here's a look at the little box I made from the Lots to Love Box and Framelits that fits the Whisper White Narrow Notecards and Envelopes perfectly.
I made these notecards to write just four of the reasons I love my beautiful partner (trust me there are many more reasons!) I hope that he will treasure this gift and these love letters to him for many years to come.

I also made a coordinating gift bag using the Gift Bag Punch Board and some the Painted With Love 12x12 Cardstock and then decorated with some of the coordinating Love Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack and added some hearts and love themed embellishments to finish it off.

Inside I popped a hand engraved ring with lyrics to our favourite song.

Lastly a look at the card that I made him.
I layered a mixture of Basic Black, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
I love that the Sweet and Sassy Framelits coordinate with this suite of products so well.
I also added some Gold Glitter Flakes as sequins to my background.

I hope that he loves this project as much as I loved making it for him.

I am sure there will be many more love themed projects and occasions in the future with my gorgeous partner Declan and I love that Stampin' Up! make such beautiful products to create handmade gifts with love!

I hope you enjoyed this blog hop today and be sure to pop along to the rest of the Artisan Design Team's blogs to see what else the rest of the team have made this month with the Painted With Love suite.

Happy Crafting!

xx
