Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Linda Cullen ~ Wishing You Sunny Days!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Today you are visiting Kayla MacAulay from Tasmania, Australia and I am participating in a Crazy Crafers Blog Hop today with special guest Linda Cullen, who is a super talented lady from the United States. You can see her blog here.

The theme of today's blog hop is to CASE (copy & selectively edit) one of Linda's gorgeous designs and make it our own. It's a really fun challenge and I love CASE'ing, especially when mojo for crafting is at a low and you can't seem to get up the creative inspiration to create much.
I started on Linda's blog and stumbled across the gorgeous card show a little bit further down the page featuring the caravan and fell in love with the colour combination.

I'll be honest, when I craft I always gravitate towards blues and greens and I really wanted to reach out of my comfort zone and loved the rich dramatic-ness of the black with the pink and yellow, so went for just that on the card shown below using the brand new Sunny Days Stamp set featuring the really super cute lemonade stand.

I fell in love with this stamp set when I saw it because it features just the cutest sentiments that would be absolutely fabulous for team and encouragement cards or just to wish someone a super happy day, like that card I created! I already have someone in mind to send it to!

I also incorporated the black in my card but wanted to go for a chalkboard effect so all I did was stamp one of the flowers included in the stamp set using our gorgeous Whisper White ink and then used a sponge and lightly sponged over the top with the same ink. This provided a nice chalkboard effect which flowed on to my sentiment which I heat embossed with white on Basic Black cardstock. I think I will be repeating this technique again, I love how it turned out!

Here's a look at the great stamp set...

The stamp set has so many great images that can be combined to create a fabulous card and I just love the great sentiments in this set that could be used for many different occasions.
Fantastic for encouragement cards!

And our fantastic blog hop banner for the hop we are taking part in today. Be sure to check the bottom of this post for links to all the other amazing blogs that have taken part including the gorgeous Linda Cullen!

Here's a look at Linda Cullen's gorgeous card. I just love her colour combination on this card and find it so so striking, plus I loved the white sentiment on the black. I was just inspired to recreate it with the new stamp set above as soon as I saw it!
You can check out more of Linda's cards on her blog here.

Here's a close up look at my card.
I loved adding some embossing to the circle element on my card with the Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions 3D folder. It really creates a really cool effect and a bit of extra texture.
I have also been a little bit obsessed with adding 'dog eared' corners to layers on my cards lately.
To achieve this I simply run the bone folder over the corner edge on one corner a few times and then carefully tear the layers apart and add some staples for some added embellishment and texture.

I stamped all the different elements of the Sunny Days Stamp Set on Thick Whisper White A4 card in Memento Black Ink and coloured them with Stampin' Blends in lots of different colours.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Here's a look at the inside of my card which I finished with a coordinating sentiment from the stamp set. I plan on sending this card to someone special as a bit of encouragement and friendship. I carried over the flower stamp from the front of the card and coloured with a mixture of Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

I layered the inside cardstock layers with a mixture of Melon Mambo and Thick Whisper White.

I hope you enjoyed my CASE of Linda Cullen's gorgeous card today and be sure to check out all the other blogs that took part in today's blog hop. There are some amazing projects!

Happy crafting. x

There's so much detail in your card Kayla and the effect is stunning. I can see why you're "obsessed" with that dog-earing - it's very effective. Amazing card!

I just love seeing a card made with a stamp set that you don't see all over the place. It's adorable. You did a great job with the layout, and all the sweet little details.
