International Highlights Winners Blog Hop ~ You are Wonderful

Hello and welcome to my blog (Kayla MacAulay) from Tasmania, Australia.
I am participating in the wonderful International Winners Highlights Blog Hop today and I am so excited to be taking part.

We are sharing 'friendship' themed cards and today I wanted to share these lovely cards that I CASE'd from the lovely fellow Artisan team member Emma Goddard
I am always inspired  by Emma's work and I just wanted to recreate these in my favourite colours.
They were a lot of fun and I ended up RAK'ing them to some lovely fellow crafters to thank them for their friendship. There is nothing better than receiving a bit of handmade love in the mail.

I hope you enjoy looking at the cards I have made today.

Here's a look at the set of three cards that I made featuring a different colour palette on each. I just love all the new colours we have at Stampin' Up! and had so much fun watercoloring using some of the new inks.
I will be the first to admit that I am not usually a 'purple' person but I just love the new Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Blackberry Bliss!
I also made my usual blue/green card as I always gravitate towards those colours, they are always my go to colour selections!
And then I went a bit girly and did a pink card using Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink and even added some Blackberry Bliss for a bit more 'dramatic' colour.

I love to watercolour, it's so much fun.
I used a base of Shimmery White Cardstock as it really is great for watercoloring as it can take a lot more water and makes the blending so easy!
I find it is best to wet the paper completely first and then add your colour, it will move across the paper a lot easier!

Here's a close up look at the finished cards.
The thing I loved about making these cards that I CASE'd from Emma's design was the beautiful embossing. I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set to stamp 'You are Wonderful' in gold, silver and copper on my cards and then used the beautiful coordinating framelits to cut and emboss those gorgeous leaves which I dipped the edges of in Versamark ink and embossed them in the coordinating embossing powder colour.

I then used my sewing machine to add a bit of stitching detail down the middle of my leaves.

To embellish I added some coordinating twine from the Nature's Roots suite (see all the product links below) and a coordinating metal leaf embellishment, some sequins and a vellum leaf punched out.

Here's a look at the coordinating inside of my card which I stamped with a leaf stamp and sentiment from the Rooted in Nature stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards today and be sure to pop on over and check out all the other blogs in the blog hop today!

Be sure to also pop on over and check out the gorgeous Emma Goddard's blog.

Happy crafting.
