Here Comes The Sun ~ Affirmation Cards

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I have something to share with you that is both exciting and sad at the same time...some cards made with products that are indeed retiring on June 3rd!

I love new catalogue time because it does mean lots of new products, but it also means that we say goodbye to some!

I absolutely loved this 'Here Comes The Sun' host stamp set.
It makes for the cutest cards and just has the most life affirming sentiments in it.

I have used it to make this set of three cards which also focuses on the gorgeous Wood Textures DSP which is also retiring. This is a must have staple in every craft stash because it makes for the most fabulous card backgrounds!

Here you can see the set of three cards that I have made. I kept the design the same on each card but changed it up with using a different design of the gorgeous wooden paper on each and a different button from those gorgeous True Gentleman buttons.

I love how they turned out!

I just adore this sentiment "Grow Through what you go through' because it's so appropriate for so many situations in life. I tied this one in with some Granny Apple Green ink which I thought tied in well with those gorgeous leaves.

On these cards I have actually stamped the sentiment twice, once on the Stitched circle and again on a Basic Black A4 card scrap and heat embossed in white. This allowed me to fussy cut it out and raise it on dimensionals on the card, for some added Oomph!

This card uses the lighter of the wooden patterns and focuses on the beautiful Daffodil Delight and that ray of sunshine. As you can see in the background I also embellished the cards with some gorgeous wooden elements and some vellum punches leaves with the leaf punch.

The last card is one of my favourites. I love the pop of Melon Mambo with the flowers and the quote is just gorgeous. I know the perfect person to send this card to!
It's also one of my favourite True Gentleman buttons.

I hope you enjoyed this look at a set of cards I made to say goodbye to this gorgeous set. Don't forget that you can purchase anything retiring now until the catalogue ends, but it may sell out beforehand, so be quick!

Magnolia - Card

Hello everyone and thanks for visiting my blog.
A big happy weekend! I have a weekend off work which is so nice, because it means I can sit at my craft desk and craft the weekend away! I hope you also get time to craft this weekend!

I wanted to share this card with you, that I made using the new Magnolia suite from the new Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue.
Haven't requested a new catalogue from me yet? Request one here.

I really loved this suite as soon as I saw it, it has such beautiful imagery and is so much fun to colour.
I was really inspired to stamp the magnolia image half on watercolour and half on Crumb Cake cardstock and see where it took me...

Here's the finished result...

To connect the join between the cardstocks I have used a strip of Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed a sentiment from the Bloom & Grow stamp set using white embossing powder.
I love that it makes the sentiment really bold and stand out.

I had fun embellishing the card and pulled the ribbon set that coordinates with the suite and combined that with a trinket from the Bird Ballad suite and finished off with some gorgeous pearls.

I absolutely love the new green twine that comes in the Magnolia suite, if you run it between the fingers of your thumb and another finger, it gives it this fun curl.

I used glue dots to adhere it all down.

As per usual, I couldn't have a 'naked' card, so I decorated the inside. I have used another sentiment from the gorgeous Bloom & Grow stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek at yet another suite of products coming soon to Stampin' Up!

Wild Rose ~ Mother's Day Cards

I can't believe it is mother's day tomorrow!
I thought I better pop on to my blog and share the two cards that I made for mother's day, for both my mother and my mother in law to be.
I was really inspired to use the brand new bundle coming soon to the new annual catalogue, To a Wild Rose.

This was a million dollar stamp set designed by the lovely Mary-Ellen in the United States.
She has done an amazing job, and these gorgeous roses look so cut three step stamped in a variety of colours from light to dark. The leaves are also three stamp stamping but you can use one, two or all three of the stamps, the choice is yours!

I chose to use a mixture of Granny Apple Green, Soft Seafoam and Shaded Spruce for the leaves and some Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick for the flowers and love how it turned out...

The actual stamp set itself did not have a Mother's Day sentiment in it, so I have used the beautiful Strong and Beautiful Cling Stamp set that was released in the current Occasions Catalogue for this fun Mother's Day sentiment and have heat embossed it in gold.

The stamp set also had some great sentiments for the inside, which you can see below.

Here's a close up of the front of the card. You can see here that there is some yellow in the centre of the flower. I have used some Crushed Curry and one of the coordinating stamps, to stamp the inside.

I added some Gold Glimmer accents with the coordinating dies for a bit of sparkle!

Here you can see the heat embossed sentiment and that gorgeous vanilla lace in the background.
I used the brand new scalloped edge lace coming to the new catalogue.

I have also used the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add texture to my white background.

Here you can see the inside of the card and the sentiments I chose for each mother.
Well truth be told, I did have Declan choose the inside for his Mum ;)

I hope you enjoyed checking out these mother's day cards.

You can see all the products I have used linked below.

Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow and happy crafting!
