Here's To Strong Women ~ Encouragement Card

I made this card just recently for a gorgeous family member of mine who is one of the strongest women I know!
I thought she could really do with a reminder of just how awesome she is and so I made her this! I love that Stampin' Up! have some 'everyday' themed sets with awesome sentiments like this one 'You've Got This Girl'.

I combined this with believe it or not, some Christmas paper!
This paper is from the Feels Like Frost 6x6 DSP stack which I have used a Sponge Brayer with some Coastal Cabana ink to get it this gorgeous colour (coastal cabana is one of my favourites).
I love altering DSP to make it really individual.

I have also used the gorgeous die from the Budding Blooms die set to cut a heap of these gorgeous flowers in Vellum which I have centred with the beautiful Noble Peacock rhinestones.
I love vellum for adding a little bit of something to coordinate with any colour combo!

Here are the steps I have used to create this card:
Step 1: I have cut a standard sized card base that is top folding from Basic Black.
Step 2: I then cut a card layer from Whisper White 1/8'' smaller than the card base.
Step 3: I have cut a card layer from the Feels Like Frost DSP 1/8'' smaller than the Whisper White. Before adhering this to the Whisper White layer, I have sponged over the top of this with Coastal Cabana ink using a sponge brayer. I have then adhered this to the Whisper White and then adhered these to the card base.
Step 4: I have now cut a Stitched Rectangle from Basic Black cardstock. I have used one that looked good size wise with my card base (A4 sizing), but you could use whichever size you like. I then cut a piece of Silver Glimmer to be 1/8'' larger on all sides as a layer. I have adhered these together with Glue Dots.
Step 5: I then stamped my 'You've Got This Girl' on Whisper White cardstock scrap using Versamark ink and my Shimmery Black embossing powder. I have then used the heat tool to heat emboss this and fussy cut around this sentiment with my paper snips.
Step 6: I have now taken some scrap of Vellum cardstock and my Budding Blooms dies and cut out ten vellum flowers, set these aside.
Step 7: Now cut a length of Denim ribbon to about 30cm, and I have used glue dots to adhere this layering back and forth twice to your Basic Black stitched rectangle.
Step 8: You can now adhere your fussy cut sentiment with Black Stampin' Dimensionals over the top of the ribbon.
Step 9: I now adhered my Stitched Rectangle/Silver Glimmer piece to the card base  with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Step 10: I chose three star felt embellishment from the Follow You Art Embellishment kit and used Glue Dots to adhere to the card where shown above.
Step 11. To embellish lastly I have added the Vellum flowers to the card scattered in the top left and bottom right with Glue Dots and added the pink and purple rhinestones from the Noble Peacock rhinestone set.
Step 12: If you like you can add some spritzes of Wink of Stella to add some more shine, but this is totally optional.

Here's a close up of the finished card where you can see just how gorgeous those flowers look and all the added shimmer and shine. I really love the texture that the denim ribbon adds also. It's a lot of fun!

I have also decorated the inside with a layer of Coastal Cabana and then Whisper White, adding a simple sentiment 'Here's to Strong Women' and embellished with a couple more vellum flowers with rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed this look at a little everyday card I made for a very special lady who is dear to my heart and always will be.

A Good Man ~ Groomsman Cards

Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Today I am MARRIED!
Yesterday's blog post shared some cards that I made for my bridesmaids and today I am sharing the cards that I made for our groomsman.

These I found a tad more difficult as masculine cards are not something that comes all that naturally to me, but I powered through and made something that I am pretty happy with.
I must admit that I love the Buffalo Check background stamp and was happy to use it on this card.

I hope you enjoy this blog post and get some inspiration.

Here are the steps I have used to create these cards:

Step 1: I have cut a standard sized card base that is top folding from Basic Black.
Step 2: I then cut a card layer from Sahara Sand 1/8'' smaller than the card base.
Step 3: I have cut a card layer from Crumb Cake 1/8'' smaller than the Sahara Sand
Step 4: I have then taken my Buffalo Check stamp set and used the Stamparatus to stamp the Crumb Cake layer with this background stamp in Early Espresso ink. I then adhered this to the Sahara Sand layer and then both layers adhered to the Basic Black card base.
Step 5: I have cut a label from Gold Glimmer using the Everyday Label punch. I have then adhered this to the card front as pictured with liquid glue.
Step 6: Taking a scrap of Whisper White card, I have stamped out the compass from the Sailing Home stamp set and used a coordinating sized circle punch to punch this out. Set aside.
Step 7: I have now taken a scrap of Sahara Sand and used the sentiment from the 'A Good Man' stamp set and stamped this with Versamark and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I just used scissors to fussy cut this out. Set aside.
Step 8: I now cut two lengths of Burlap ribbon to just smaller than 4''. I have then laid these over each other and adhered them with plenty of glue dots over the Gold Glimmer label on the card.
Step 9: I have then taken the stamped compass and used some mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this over the burlap ribbon in the centre of the card.
Step 10: I have adhered the embossed sentiment over the top of the compass with just liquid glue.
Step 11. To embellish I have taken the Sail Away trinkets and used tweezers to dab them in Versamark ink and using tweezers again to cover them with gold embossing powder and heat. Be careful during this stage to not handle the trinkets until cooled down as they will get hot.
I have also done this same with some Basic Rhinestones, applying gold embossing powder and heating,
Step 12: To finish off I have used a Glue Dot to add my wheel to the card as pictured, and added some gold rhinestones scattered on the card.

Here you can see a close up of the finished card.
I am not a natural at making masculine cards. I grew up in a family of girls and I am very much accustomed to flowery things!
I did however enjoy making these and hope that the groomsman will really like them.

You Are Simply Wonderful ~ Bridesmaids Cards

Hello and welcome back to my little blog.
Guess what?
Today I marry my best friend and soul mate - Declan.
Don't worry - I am not blogging on my wedding day, I have pre-scheduled this post for you all.

I made these cards to thank my gorgeous bridesmaids to go along with their gift which I hope they will love - some Pandora jewellery.

I wanted to share these with you today because I have to admit that I am slightly addicted to Pigment Sprinkles and the gorgeous Bloom & Grow stamp set.

I was also inspired to make really blue and green cards with a touch of gold as they are my wedding colours. Well sort of...I have gone with an Emerald and Green wedding theme.

I hope you enjoy this little share...

Here are the steps I have used to create these cards:

Step 1: I have cut a standard sized card base that is top folding.
Step 2: I then cut a card layer from Basic Black 1/8'' smaller than the card base.
Step 3: Cut a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper to 1/8'' smaller than your Basic Black layer.
Step 4: Cut a piece of Basic Black to 4'' by 2''.
Step 5: Cut a piece a Gold Glimmer to 4'' by 2 1/4''.
Step 6: Using an Aqua Painter wet the whole piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and then lay down some Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles over the top. Then using a Stampin' Spritzer, spray water on the top until the colours all blend together. Set aside to dry.
Step 7: Stamp out some flowers from the Bloom & Grow stamp set on some scrap thick Whisper White cardstock using Memento Black ink. Using Pretty Peacock light and dark Stampin' Blends, Bermuda Bay dark Stampin' Blends, Pineapple Punch dark Stampin' Blend and Granny Apple Green light and dark Stampin' Blends, colour all the flowers and leaves of two sets of flowers.
Step 8: Pour out some of the Golden Glitz Delicata ink refill on an acrylic stamping block and using a semi dry Aqua painter, paint this carefully onto the 'berries' of your flower. Please note: you will need to set this aside for some time to dry.
Step 9: Stamp the sentiment "You are Simply Wonderful" in versamark on  your piece of black and heat emboss in white. Adhere this with glue dots to your piece of Gold Glimmer.
Step 10: Using this stamped piece as a guide, place the scalloped edge die from the coordinating dies on the dried Pigment Sprinkles piece to create the scalloped 'openings' and use washi tape to hold in place while you run this through the die cut machine.
Step 11. Adhere your piece of black/gold down between the scalloped openings with Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere this now to your layer of Basic Black (leaving no adhesive around where the scalloped opening is, to allow the flowers to slip in here) and then adhere that layer to the white card base.
Step 12: Once your flowers are completely dry (a heat gun can help and I left mine overnight), use a combination of Glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere them coming out from underneath the scalloped opening.
Step 13: I have tied a double strand Linen Thread bow and adhered this to the bottom left of my card on the black panel and then accented with some Gold Glitter enamel dots.
Step 14: To finish off I added some spritzes of Clear Wink of Stella.

Here you can see a close up of the finished card and the detail and beautiful colours.

I have also decorated the inside of my card, adding a sentiment and also another lot of flowers which I have coloured with blends.
