Little Ladybug ~ SAB Host Freebie ~ International Winners Blog Hop

Hello lovely blog reader and welcome to my blog.
You are visiting Kayla's blog from Tasmania Australia.
I am so lucky to be participating in Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Winner's blog hop.
A big thank you so much to everybody that voted for my card in the highlights reel.

Today our theme was 'encouragement' and I just thought of this gorgeous little ladybug set.
It was the sentiment that really inspired me with "Spread Your Wings and Fly"
If that is not encouragement, I don't know what is. I just love it!

This card was really inspired from the Sale-a-Bration brochure which I cannot show you yet (will be live on the 4th of January)
however I added some 'Kayla' touches and made it me.

I hope that you enjoy...

Here is a look at the finished card.
I just loved the look of repeatedly stamping those little ladybugs tone on tone (with Pool Party) in the background. It makes such a quick, easy and fun background you can make in a flash.
It really is one of my favourite techniques!

Something else cool about this card?
The purple Designer Series Paper you can see, you can earn FREE in SAB and the Ladybug stamp set can also be earned FREE! I love Sale-a-Bration - it's one of my favourite times of year!

I used my trust Stampin' Blends to colour all my ladybug elements.
I have listed the colours I have used below at the bottom of the post.

I used a Stitched Shape in a circle to ground all my elements, and stamped my beautiful sentiment in Lovely Lipstick on this circle before adhering to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I also cut a strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock and used some fringe scissors to cut what looks like grass.
You can also do this with ordinary paper snips, just making sure you don't cut right to the top, so you have something to hold the strip together.

I have then embellished with some Glitter Enamel Dots in Lovely Lipstick, some Linen Thread and a gorgeous felt scalloped piece from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit. I just love these!

Finally I decorated the inside of my card and kept it really simple, stamping another flower and adding an extra lady bug.
I chose not to add a stamped sentiment to the inside, so that I could make the theme of this card based upon who I choose to send it to.

I hope you enjoyed this post today and got some inspiration.

Be sure to hop along to all the other blog and check out the amazing work.

Crafty hugs! xx

Lovely Lily Pad Stamp Set & Dies ~ SAB Freebies BLOG HOP

Hi lovely blog reader and welcome back to my little blog.
Today I am participating in a blog hop with the Ink & Inspiration crew featuring sneak peeks of products from the brand new Mini Catalogue which goes live to customers on January 4th.

I hope that you enjoy my post today featuring some of the brand new Sale-a-Bration freebies that you can get FREE when the catalogue goes live!

Without further ado, here's my card...

For this card, I was inspired by a design from the SAB catalogue itself, which I can't show you just yet. The card was a mini square notecard and in more muted colours - and I went for bold!

For this card I really wanted a lot of Pretty Peacock and some bold and bright punch with the Lovely Lipstick and accented by the Granny Apple Green.
I just love working with colours and colour combinations and Stampin' Up! just makes that so easy!

These gorgeous water lilies are available in a stamp and also some coordinating dies and BOTH you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-Bration. How cool is that?

Here's a close up where you can see I stamped the same image four times and cut out different sections, layering them with Stampin' Dimensionals to get this fabulous 3D water lily.
It was made really simple, since there is a coordinating die. No fussy cutting needed!

I also used the dies to cut the leaves quickly and easily and both the leaves and flower were stamped tone on tone on the coordinating coloured cardstock.

I have embellished with some Painted Poppies Sequins which are new and coming also and some of my trusty fave..linen thread!

The patterned paper used in the background is from our fabulous 6x6 In Colour DSP stacks in the ever so gorgeous Pretty Peacock.

Of course I also decorated the inside of the card.
The water lily stamp set does not have sentiments, however is perfect to match with sentiments from so many of our stamp sets!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the card I made and the sneak peek of new products today.

Make sure you hop along and check out all the other gorgeous projects on the other blog.

Under my Umbrella ~ Friendship Card

Hello lovely blog reader and welcome back to my little blog.
I hope wherever you are in the world you are having a lovely week and getting ready for the fabulous festive season!

Today I wanted to come and share a card I made recently using one of the brand new upcoming bundles from the new Mini Catalogue...Under my Umbrella.
I fell in love with this stamp set as soon as I saw it in the new catalogue and knew that I had to have it straight away.
I just loved the sentiments and those fun umbrellas that could be used in so many ways!
I have many plans with this stamp set, and can't wait to share them with you all.

For this card I was really inspired to create a background of 'rain' 'water' and had so much fun using a mixture of Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana inks with my Aqua Painter to achieve this on our super fabulous Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. Have I mentioned I love that stuff?

Here is the finished card that I created...

To create watercolour effects like this, I simply squeeze my Aqua Painter and brush it over only the sections that I want the colour to appear. I then use either my ink pad (by squeezing some ink into the lid of the pad by pressing it together, or place some ink refill into one of my ink lids) and then I drip it onto the card. The more ink you use, the deeper the colour will be.

I usually use a mix of colours and here I have used Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana. The ink combinations is completely up to you, but you may want to test them out of a scrap first, in case you are not sure how they will mix.

I then dried my piece with my heat gun, as I really like the look of it heated as you get some more 'harsh' lines. You can let it dry naturally if you prefer a softer look.
After the piece was dry, I have stamped my rain drops with Bermuda Bay ink over the top. You want to make sure the piece is dry when you do this step, otherwise they will bleed!

I have then mounted this piece onto some Basic Black Cardstock and then some Shimmer Paper for some glitz and glam!

I have then stamped my umbrella with Granny Apple Green ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock. I love the tone on tone look, and it is something that I reach for quite frequently.

I have stamped some of the flowers from the stamp set in Memento Ink and coloured them with some Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends with a touch of Pineapple Punch in the centre.
I also stamped an umbrella stick with Basic Gray on Basic Gray cardstock.
The lovely coordinating punch is so handy as I was able to quickly punch out my umbrella and umbrella handle.

I finished off embellishing with some Linen Thread, some Gingham Gala Sequins (with a Basic Rhinestone in the middle) and one of the gorgeous butterflies from the Butterfly Duet Punch from Shimmer Card with a Glitter Enamel Dot in the centre.

I couldn't put that much work into a card without of course decorating the inside, so I added a fun sentiment in Daffodil Delight and the stamped flowers replicated from the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed a look at some of what I have been creating with the new products.
