Parisian Beauty ~ Notecard

Hello lovely blog readers and welcome back to my little piece of the interwebs!
Thanks for visiting my blog today, and I hope that you leave with some inspiration.

Today I wanted to share a card that I got inspiration for (CASE'd) from the Mini Catalogue using the Parisian Beauty Bundle. I was so inspired by the sample they had shown in the catalogue and particularly the gorgeous background created with one of our gorgeous embossing folders and how the Eiffel Tower was stamped in multiple bright and happy colours!

Be sure to check the bottom of the post for links and pictures of all the products I have used to create this fun card, all of which are available to purchase in my store.

Here's a look at the completed card, which is actually notecard size.
In my store we sell the fabulous Notecards and Envelopes which are mini sized cards that make for the cutest little notecards to send to anyone special!

I have cut a piece of Sahara Sand to cover the entire notecard base and then cut a piece slightly smaller as pictured which I have stamped with a mixture of the coordinating stamps from the Parisian Beauty Stamp set in a mixture of Gray Ganite, Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock Inks.
After I had stamped this piece, I than ran it though the Subtle Impressions Textured Embossing Folder to add this beautiful texture. I have then distressed the edges with the blade of my Paper Snips.

To finish decorating the card, I have stamped an Eiffel Tower using a mixture of; Lovely Lipstick, Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay Inks.
I find this technique most effective when you turn the stamp over on a block and apply the inks with our fabulous Sponge Daubers (linked below). This allows you to blend the colours slightly together before stamping to get this rainbow stamped effect.

I have then decorated with some Silver Metallic Thread and a die cut 'Merci' from the coordinating die cuts, which I have die cut twice for an in-laid die cut look.
To do this, you simply die cut the word 'merci' first from the Lovely Lipstick Cardstock strip and then die cut the same 'merci' once more from Daffodil Delight Cardstock and piece this die cut back inside the Lovely Lipstick Piece.
I have used Stampin' Dimensionals to keep it all in place before adhering it over the top of the Eiffel Tower.

I hope that you enjoyed today's post and got some inspiration to get all French inspired and get creative.

Here you can see the card that I CASE'd from the samples from the Stampin' Up! mini catalogue.

Botanical Prints Medley ~ Friendship Card

Hello and welcome back to my little blog.
Today I am excited to be sharing with you a card that I made recently using the GORGEOUS new product medley from the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.

I think that this bundle could be easily overlooked as it is towards the back of the catalogue and quite easy to flick past. I really wanted to showcase this gorgeous medley as it really does have a lot of potential!

What I decided to do was grab the medley and lay it all out on my desk and see where my creativity took me. I fell in love with the coordinating stamp set Botanical Prints and really wanted to feature this on the card. I really was inspired too by the gorgeous copper dragonfly embellishments that come as part of this medley, so I decided to feature my favourite of the stamps with a repetitive stamped background, embossed in copper!

I hope you enjoy today's post and be sure to scroll to the bottom to see links to all the products I have used in today's featured project, all of which you can purchase in my store.

Here's a look at the completed card where you can see the effect that the repeatedly stamped floral in copper looks like as a background.
I really think it makes that stamp shine!

Here's a close up of the finished project where you can see some of the details.
I have used the stamp to create some more flowers which I have coloured with a mixture of; Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends. I really wanted to bring out these flowers since I had also used them in the background.

I have also accented with some Crumb Cake leaves punched out with some scrap card with the Leaf Punch. I love the Leaf Punch and I am so hoping it stays around forever! It makes the cutest little accents.

I have finished the card up with a copper embossed sentiment on one of the included label die cuts and added one of those gorgeous copper dragonflies and some of the beautiful coordinating Old Olive Ribbon.

You really do get everything you need to create beautiful cards in this medley!

Here's a look at the coordinating inside that I created for my card where I have added layers of Basic Black and Whisper White and added another floral die cut with an intricate corner cut from the coordinating dies included in the medley from Crumb Cake cardstock.

I hope that you enjoyed today's post and be sure to go and check out all the gorgeous products I used to create this fun card in my store here.

Here's a closer look at the Botanical Prints Medley as I really think that it is a bit *lost* in the catalogue. Be sure to check out my store for more details.

Dressed to Impress ~ Watercolour and Stampin' Blends ~ Ink + Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello lovely blog readers and thank you so much for popping by to read my blog today.
Today I am taking part in an awesome blog hop with the amazing Ink + Inspiration crew & I am really excited that today we are sharing some of our favourite and most exciting techniques with you.
This is a blog hop that you just won't want to miss, so be sure to see below for all the blog links - you will get many ideas!

Today I have decided to use one of my favourite bundles in the new Mini Catalogue - The Dressed To Impress Bundle. I just love the fun and girly accessories and the awesome sentiments.
The sentiment I have used on my card today, "Be as bold as your lipstick" is definitely a favourite - and I don't even really wear lipstick!

I am also featuring one of my fave techniques and that is watercolouring & a bit of Stampin' Blends to colour my fun images!

To create this card I followed these steps:
  • Cut a card base from Whisper White to your standard card base.
  • Cut a layer 1/8'' smaller from Basic Black to adhere to the Whisper White base.
  • Cut a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to 1/8'' smaller than your previous layer of Whisper White.
  • Taking your piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, take an Aqua Painter and I like to wet my card where I want my ink to run/be first. I just give it a small layer of water. I have then taken my Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick and Pumpkin Pie inks and using the ink that is pressed up on top of the lid, I have used my Aqua Painter to carefully add some to where I have already placed the water on my cardstock. It will naturally run and blend at this point. It is really important to use something like Shimmery White Card or Watercolour Card for this technique, as it will be able to withstand the water.
I personally like to heat set mine dry, as I love the harsh lines you get drying it this way, however you could let it dry naturally! Once dry, I have then sprayed some water into my hand using a Stampin' Spritzer and then 'flicked' this over the card. Because our ink is water based, adding water will actually remove the colour from where this water lands. That is what you can see in the picture, where you have those splotches. Once this piece dries, I have then tapped my Wink Of Stella pen over the top for some more glitz!
  • Take your dry watercoloured piece and adhere this to your layer of Basic Black. Now adhere you Basic Black piece with Stampin' Dimensionals to the card base.
  • I have now on a scrap of Thick Whisper White Cardstock stamped my lipstick image from the Dressed to Impress stamp set five times. I have then coloured these with Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. I personally like to add my dark Stampin' Blend first and then blend it all out with my light Stampin' Blend in the same colour. I have then die cut these images and adhered them to my card as shown, with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • I have then taken a small scrap of Basic Black cardstock and stamped my sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I have then trimmed around this sentiment and matted it with some Gold Foil. I have added this to the centre of my card with some Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Finally to embellish I have added some Peaceful Poppies Sequins in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes over the card. I did add quite a few!
  • To decorate the inside of the card, I have added a layer of Basic Black and Whisper White Cardstock and a small strip of the Best Dressed 6x6 Designer Series Paper. I also fussy cut out one of the lipsticks from the paper and adhered this to the inside - and lastly a FABULOUS sentiment with Memento ink.

You can see all the fabulous and talented paper crafters that took place in this blog hop here:

Here you can see a close up of the finished card and all the details.
I just love how those Peaceful Poppies sequins really accented the colours I had chosen with my watercolouring.

Here's a look at the finished inside. A bit of lippy fun!

I hope you got some inspiration with the card that I have shared today, and are keen to go and do some watercolouring and use those Stampin' Blends.

Be sure to go and check out all the other amazing blogs.

Happy crafting! xx
