Fable Friends ~ Hello Baby Card

Hey lovely blog readers and thanks for visiting my blog today.
Today I wanted to pop by and share a fun card I made, a BABY card.
Baby cards are not my forte usually, as I find them more challenging then just your general 'than you' or 'friend' cards.

I had been using this beautiful Fable Friends Stamp set however, and was having the time of my life watercolouring lots of the different images on some Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and wanted to use these images!

I decided I couldn't wait to show you, because I have actually used TWO Sale-a-Bration products on this project; the fabulous Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper and the So Very Vellum Specialty Paper.
Both of these gorgeous papers you can earn FREE at the moment with a $90 order.
Please remember that with Sale-a-Bration the freebies are accumulative, that means you qualify for another FREEBIE for EVERY $90 AUD spent.
Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31st, and I'd hate for you to miss out, so be sure to go and check out my store here. You can order with me and earn these freebies online, no matter where you live in Australia!

Here's a look at my finished card where you can see how gorgeous it all came together.
I have a confession to make: I am TOTALLY in love with the Sahara Sands Woven Threads Trim. You can see it linked at the bottom of this post where you can purchase it from my store. I actually pretty much always trim it to get this tasseled effect. I am just in love!

I have also used a fun new colour combo for me of; Mint Macaron, Basic Black, Whisper White and Sahara Sand. What inspired this colour combo was that I wanted the baby card to be gender neutral, so that I was prepared to give this card to someone no matter their baby's gender.

I think I am going to have to fall back in love with my Mint Macaron and try it with some more combinations. I think it was a forgotten about colour in my stash! I don't know how!!!! It's beautiful!

Here's a close up look at the finished card where you can see all the finer details.
You will be able to see that I have embellished the card with a couple of items including the beautiful Whisper White Baker's Twine, the Sprig Punch using the beautiful So Very Vellum (FREE Sale-a-Bration item) and some of those GORGEOUS From My Heart Faceted Gems.

Those faceted gems are gorgeous, and can be used for so much more than just lovey dovey Valentines cards. I chose to use the more neutral toned gems, which really pick up on the more subtle tones of this card.

The sentiment is from the So Very Sentimental Stamp Set and stamped on a circle that I have die cut from an older die set from the Annual Catalogue - Stitched Labels Dies.
It's the perfect size for that cute little sentiment.
I have coloured the heart from the sentiment with some Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends and added a layer of Clear Wink of Stella.

The little bunny 'Peter Rabbit' is stamped with Staz On Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and I have just simply taken a heap of ink pads and my Aqua Painter and had a lot of fun playing around with watercolour.
I used three different shades of brown; Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for his body.
I have added touches of Flirty Flamingo for his ears, cheeks and nose.
His little jacket is coloured with a combination of Mint Macaron and Call me Clover.
I think when it comes to colouring images like this, it's just a matter of practicing, and it's okay to take time and do it more than once!
My biggest tip is that LESS IS MORE! You can always go back in and add more colour, but you cannot take it away.

Here's a look at the completed inside of my card where I have added some more of the Golden Honey Designer Series Paper.
I am a big sucker for a good black and white stripe.

I didn't know what to add as far as a sentiment or stamping on the inside, so I chose to add this BEAUTIFUL Praiseworthy Prose bundle of joy stamp.
I haven't actually used these stamps before, and they have been in my stash for a while, and I am so glad that I did.

I also added a beautiful Gold Glimmer heart cut from the Detailed Hearts Die.

I hope that you got some inspiration and enjoyed today's project share.
