Timeless Tropical ~ Sunset 'Aloha' Card

Hello lovely people!
I hope you are having a lovely and thanks for dropping by!

Today I have a really exciting card to share with you that was totally inspired by one of my stamping besties Jodie!! She is a member of my team I have known Jodie many years.
She was at my house stamping quite a few weeks ago and came up with this 'sunset' idea and I just had to give it a whirl!

I was so excited with the result and I can't wait to try a few more of these.

All the products I have used today are all listed at the bottom of this post and are all available in my store here.
Be sure to scroll to the bottom, as I actually have just released a class using this Timeless Tropical Bundle which you can see below. Or you can head here for more information and sign up.

Here's a look at the finished card where you can see how it all came together.
I have blended the background with one of my favourite tools at the moment, the oval makeup brushes! These are available on Ebay if you search 'oval makeup brush'. They are amazing tools!

I have blended from the bottom up, starting with Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Calypso Coral and lastly Melon Mambo. What a fun colour combo!
If you have been reading my blog lately you will have noticed my love of playing with COLOUR!
It's one of my favourite things about Stampin’ Up!, is the fabulous colours we have and that everything coordinates!

This is a colour combo that makes an absolutely gorgeous sunset!

The technique behind this card was to create my 'sunset' and then simply heat emboss the palm trees in black to create a silhouette look. It's really simple but effective!

P.s. I find these sponging techniques work particularly well on our gorgeous Shimmery White Cardstock.

Here's a close up look at the finished card where you can see some of the details.
I have used the beautiful coordinating die from the Timeless Tropical bundle 'aloha' which I have die cut from Gold Foil.

I have then die cut several flowers from Mango Melody. I have then decorated these with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels which I have coloured with Mango Melody Stampin' Blends. I love that these blends can colour these jewels any colour you wish!

I have also spritzed some water on the background to remove some of the colour from the sunset and create this 'droplet' effect.
I have then spritzed some Wink of Stella!

I have kept the inside of the card very simple with layers of black and white and added some die cut flowers in Mango Melody and Gold Foil. I have also added rhinestones to the centres of these and added a 'hello' sentiment in Mango Melody Ink.

I hope that I gave you some inspiration today to get this stamp set out for a whirl and try this fun technique.
