Sailing Home ~ Relax Your Way Masculine Card

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!
Today is a special's my Dad's 66th Birthday!
It's a shame that we can't spend it with him in person because of the current COVID-19 restrictions, but we are celebrating all the same.

I have made a card for him featuring the Sailing Home Bundle from the current Annual Catalogue. I am so thrilled that this bundle is actually in fact carrying over to the new upcoming Annual Catalogue! Yippee! It's such a fabulous bundle to use for masculine cards and so much more!

At the bottom of this post you can see a product list which includes all the products used to make today's project, all of which are available in my store here.

I was so lucky just in this last year to have my amazing father walk me down the aisle with my son Elijah at Declan and my wedding.
My Dad is such a special and amazing guy and forever lucky to have him in my life!
These pictures I will treasure forever...

The card was based on a colour combo that I considered to be nice and masculine...

I have stamped the gorgeous compass stamp all over the background in Early Espresso before spritzing some Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker over the background.
To distress it further, I have run it through my die cutting machine with the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I love this folder!

I then added this to a further layer of Crumb Cake and then to a Basic Black Card base.

I have added some Vellum Cardstock which I have torn slightly on one edge and added a layer of Burlap Ribbon.

To embellish I decided to use a combination of my Stitched Shapes Dies and the Layering Circle dies which I have cut in Crumb Cake and Copper Foil.
I used this as the 'base' to anchor all my focal pieces.

I have then stamped the sail boat in Versamark and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. This one has fabulous matching no fussy cutting needed!

I have then embellished with some of the Copper Trim which I have pulled apart to make it look as though it was 'netting'.
I then finished it up with some Designer Elements in Copper.

I have also used a sentiment from the 'A Good Man' stamp set and chose to use 'Relax Your Way'.

Here's a look at the stamped inside to my card which I have kept simple with double layers of Crumb Cake and have then stamped a sail boat from the Sailing Home Stamp Set and a further sentiment "It's Your Day" from the A Good Man stamp set.

I added some more spritzing with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

I hope that my Dad will enjoy this card, just as much as I enjoyed making it!

Stampin’ Up! have so many great options for masculine cards. I will admit that I do struggle with masculine cards, but with beautiful coordinating products like these, it made it a breeze!
