Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern ~ Friendship Card

Hey guys.
Happy Friday!

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made just yesterday while I was having a crafty catch up with my good friend Jodie!
We haven't had many of those recently due to the restrictions with COVID and goodness it was good to get back to crafting and doing what I love with a crafty friend! Nothing like a good crafty catch up.

I was recently so inspired by a card that I saw by the lovely Dani Dziami which you can see on her post over here. She had created this fun background with heat embossed stripes. So much fun! I just had to recreate it!

Be sure to check the bottom of this post where I have all the links to the products I have used, all of which are available in my store here.

Here's a look at my finished card.
I was really inspired to combine this technique with some gold heat embossing and the gorgeous Forever Fern bundle.

I have used blues and greens (of course) with this fun colour combination....

To create the embossed stripes I have followed these steps:
1. Put some Versamark Ink Refill onto a clear block and add some water (I just used water from my Aqua Painter). Mix them together.
2. Using your finger swipe these onto your Whisper White cardstock in large stripes across the page. You will be able to see it as it applies quite thickly onto the cardstock.
3. Sprinkle your embossing powder over the top and heat until the embossing powder is melted.

It creates a really fun look. Mine did bubble a little bit. but imperfections is what makes this so much fun and a little bit 'artistic'.

I have then stamped and die cut a variety of ferns and foliage from the Forever Fern Bundle in a mixture of; Just Jade, Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana, Gold Foil and Mint Macaron.
I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere these down.

Here's a close up of the finished card.
It's really hard to get a good photograph of heat embossing and show it in its truest form.
It really gorgeous, I promise!

I have stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this in white on a Basic Black circle cut from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
I have framed this with a scalloped circle cut in Gold Foil from the Layering Circle Dies.
To decorate this I have added some of the gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. I just use Tear N' Tape to adhere this to the back of the circles.
I have then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere this to the card.

Lastly I spritzed some Clear Wink of Stella and added some Gilded Gems! Just have to have a bit of sparkle!

Here's a look at the decorated inside of my card where I have used layers of Whisper White and Just Jade and added some Forever Greenery DSP and added some Gold Trim.

I hope you got some inspiration from today's card.
