Stampin’ Up! Friend Like You ~ Friendship Card

Happy Sunday lovely crafters.
Today I am sharing with you a card that I made this weekend as a challenge to myself.
I haven't received my box of new goodies yet, so I have been challenging myself to grab sets and bundles off my shelf that I either haven't used, or are barely used.

This gorgeous Friend Like You bundle is still available in the new catalogue and I had NEVER used it. I know!!! That's terrible, as it's an amazing set of stamps and dies!
I decided to combine the new with the old and brought in one of our brand new embossing folders to use with it to create a fun textured background.

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see links to all the products that I have used, all of which are available in my store here.

Here's a look at the finished card.
I have gone for my usual love of bright colours and combined a few on the beautiful border die that comes as part of the Friendly Silhouette Dies. I have actually cut this piece twice from Shimmery White Cardstock (so that I could watercolour) and also cut once from Vellum Cardstock so that I could line them all up so a bit of dimension.

I have then taken a Water Painter and coloured the two Shimmery White pieces with a collection of; Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Coastal Cabana Stampin' Classic Inks.
This is really simple to do with our water painters, as you simply add some ink to the ink pad lid and dip your brush (that you have added water to) and paint it on!

Here's a look at today's fun colour combination....

Here's a close up of the finished card where you can see some of the texture.
I am addicted to this new embossing folder and I think that it is a must have for every crafter - as it just makes the most subtle but elegant backgrounds!

I have heat embossed the fun sentiment in white on Basic Black Cardstock and fussy cut this out. It's not as hard as it looks - I promise!

I also stamped some fun dragonflies in Blackberry Bliss and die cut these with the coordinating Friendly Silhouette Dies.

I did add some Linen Thread around the bottom of my card front before adhering to the card base and also added some Basic rhinestones for some bling!

Here's a look at the inside of my card where I have added layers of Basic Black and Whisper White with a 1/2" strip of Gold foil and some Linen Thread.
I have also added some simple stamping with Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and Memento Black Ink using the Friend Like You Stamp Set.
