Stampin’ Up! Seaside Notions ~ Papercraft Crew #PCC381

Happy hump day lovely people!
I always love Wednesdays. I'm not too sure why. They are always a work day for me and I am always on night shift, but I love them all the same!

Today I have a fun new card to share with you going on my theme for the week of mixing the old with the new. I have picked out a stamp set that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it, the beautiful Seaside Notions stamp set. What got me with this stamp set is the adorable seahorse. I just love seahorses, they are so peaceful and calming.
I am lucky enough that here in Tasmania, Australia where I live - we actually have 'Seahorse World' and they actually breed and supply their seahorses internationally.

This card I have made for the super fun Paper Craft Crew challenge for this week #PCC381 which you can find over on the their blog and pop your entry in over here.
I have shown the sketch for this week's challenge down below.

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see links to all the products that I have used, all of which are available in my store here.

Here's a look at the finished card.
I wanted to create a very textured background so have pulled my favourite embossing folders, the Subtle Embossing Folder out to play!
Before embossing this however I have actually stamped a 'textured' image from the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set and stamped this over my background in Whisper White Ink. It's very subtle and hard to see, but I promise the effect it gives the card for extra texture is beautiful!
I have then distressed the edges of my Crumb Cake piece with the blade of my Paper Snips to create some added texture and dimension. I have matted this with Basic Black and added some small strips of Gold Foil and Forever Greenery DSP before adding some gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.

I have adhered this to my card base of Whisper White with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's a look at the sketch for this week that we were playing with. It's a super fun and versatile sketch that is great for lots of different themes and occasions.

Here's a close up look at the finished card.
To achieve this look I have followed the following steps.
Seahorse: I have stamped my seahorse in Memento Black and coloured this wth a mixture of; Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Stampin' Blends. I just love how the blues and greens blend together. I have then added some Wink of Stella over the top.
Sentiment: I have heat embossed my 'Happy Birthday' sentiment in gold and fussy cut this out. If fussy cutting is not something that you like to do, you could just make this into a banner.
Circles: I have die cut a Crumb Cake Circle from the Stitched Shapes dies using the second largest circle. I have then cut from Gold Foil a scalloped circle to fit this from the Layering Circles Dies. I have adhered these circles over the top of the paper strips. Before adhering it down I have also cut a foliage piece from Vellum Cardstock using the Flourishing Dies.
Embellishments: I have coloured some Basic Rhinestones with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend and adhered these where shown. I have also added a gold piece from the Forever Gold Speciality Paper which I have adhered underneath the seahorse image which is mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals.
Ribbon: I have used the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to tie a small bow which I have placed where shown with a Glue Dot.

Here's a look at the decorated inside of the card.
I have kept this simple with layers of Basic Black and Whisper White. I have then added some more of the textured stamp used on the card front, but this time stamped this with some Pool Party Ink.
I have then stamped some coral in Memento Black and coloured this with the same combination of Stampin' Blends and added a sentiment in Memento Black.
I have lastly added a small strip of the Forever Greenery DSP.

I hope that you got some inspiration from my card today.
