Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical ~ Stampin' Fancy Friday ~ CASE a Fancy Friend

Hello lovely peeps!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.
Today I have a super fun and whimsy card to share with you that was inspired by my super lovely and inspirational friend Emma Goddard.

Emma and I were on the Artisan Design Team together in 2018. I hope I got that date right? haha!
As part of the Stampin' Fancy Friday challenge this month, it was to CASE (copy and selectively edit) something from one of the Stampin' Fancy Design Team.
I chose Emma...because....well I have to admit, I am kinda obsessed with her work! Haha!
She is one super talented crafter and I love to watch her videos and see her fun projects that she posts.
See below for a look at the card she created that inspired the card below.

Make sure you go and follow the Stampin' Fancy Friday to see the latest challenges and all the amazing projects.

Scroll to the bottom of this post to see links to all the products that I have used in today's project, all of which are available in my store here.

Here's a look at my finished card.

You can see the card that inspired this one below from the lovely Emma.
I was inspired to go with her watercolour and whimsical feel. I always love how Emma colours and adds such fun free flow techniques to her cards.

I wanted to use an older bundle that has carried over to our new annual catalogue, the Timeless Tropical Bundle.

I have watercolored a background using Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green inks. Where they meet in the middle, it has created an entirely new colour which is really fun.
I have chosen to use Shimmery White Cardstock for this panel so that it was able to take a little bit more water and I was able to achieve this watercolour effect.
I have heat dried this piece with the Heat Tool as I quite like the harsh lines this achieves, compared to letting it try naturally.

I have then stamped my frangipani flowers using Staz On ink on some Shimmery White Card and coloured these with a mixture of Mango Melody, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral Inks, once again using a Water Painter.
Tip: I have not worried about staying in the lines or aiming for 'perfect' colouring as this is what I loved so much about Emma's adds to the whimsical feel.

Here was a look at the fabulous challenge for the month.
It was very hard choosing just one person to CASE and knowing which card to CASE....but these stood out as my clear favourites....

A look at the cards by Emma that inspired my card. I just loved her watercoloring and mix of colours as well as her whole whimsical approach to the card.
She actually used a 'finger watercolouring' technique which you may be able to see her reference on her blog post for these cards, which you can see here.

Here's a close up look at my finished card where you can see some of the texture and detail.
I have chosen to embellish with some of the trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.
I also added a strip of Gold Foil and some Linen Thread wrapped around my card layers before adhering to the Coastal Cabana Card base.

I have added some Wink of Stella spritzing to the card..of course and have added some Basic Rhinestones to the centres of my frangipanis.
I have then heat embossed my sentiment in white on Basic Black Cardstock and fussy cut this out.
Fussy cutting is another Emma favourite and I love it!!

Here's a look at the inside of my card which I have kept simple with layers of Basic Black and Whisper White with a small strip of Gold Foil and some Linen Thread.

I have also stamped and die cut a pineapple from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and cut with the coordinating dies.
I have coloured this a mixture of Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.

I hope that I was able to provide you with some inspiration today.
